according to loy's source who has been spot on with this recruitment stated a SERIOUS personal issue which wasn't expanded upon had Beal heading back to IMG and his trainer heading back to georgia. this cut his fsu visit short...this source MAINTAINS he will VISIT in July.-247

Thanks for digging.

So his trainer was his ride to all the camps?

Something knew that I didn't know as of a week ago. One of the reasons we just flat out stopped recruiting Beal was because of a failed visit regarding Gilmore. Gilmore communicated with Beal that he was going to be down to visit him in GA. Gilmore made the trek and once there tried to make contact with Beal. Long story short, Beal never responded or anyone from his camp for that matter. Gilmore left town as a complete waste of time. This is from Ivins at BGI.

When Beal realized that we were done unless something changed, he reached out to BK in order to mend those fences.

Damn. Beal playing a dangerous game. Doesn't matter how good you are, you don't disrespect a coach like that.

Yea, I'm not sure if its the kid, his surroundings, or what. But this recruitment definitely has some bizarre in it.

For his entire "camp" (family? coaches?) to go silent when they know a coach is in town to see him? That's some bullsh*t.

I wonder if it was a power-play to show how they felt about the situation with his sister and the recruitment?

Those are some fences to mend, for sure. I don't know how you can freeze out your future positional coach in a big way like that.

So it sounds like UGA is expecting him to commit in the near future. Their 247 site is pretty confident that happens. Andrew Ivins at BGI has also stated that he's hearing a lot of info saying that Beal is close to committing to UGA. However, he didn't know if that commitment would then result in him shutting things down or not.

This sucks. I get that if he's going to visit we theoretically still have a shot, but after someone decommits, the odds the recommit and then decommitting a 2nd time seem to be astronomically low.

Sure, there's always a Tuitt out there in each class, but I bet the 'stick' rate of a 2nd committment is more than twice that of the initial commitment stick rate.

...and then you have the kid that has decommitted from Iowa like 3 times already

He's not coming.

He disregarded his future coach for a weekend then said he was in for II then had a last minute emergency? Lulz.

Honestly, I'm to the point where I don't believe he's a good fit and we should move on. There are recruits who are conflicted but respectful then there are these situations that I think warrant a change of direction.

I'm sure he'll be great but he doesn't sound like someone who'll succeed at ND.

If someone thinks this is absurd, I'd be interested in hearing the reasoning.

Don't think it's absurd at all as certain "personalities" seem to struggle once they get to ND. I would however take this kid no matter what only because he plays at a position we always struggle recruiting (elite pass rusher). If he was an OL or TE I wouldn't even bother.

The effort to re-ignite relations perplexes me. So he pushes to re-establish relations then puts ND into the "consider" classification. That is like working for a girl to consider going to the prom with you then telling her you will let her know as you are still deciding who you want to go to the prom with. Makes zero sense.

Im guessing just more publicity and if ND was important to him, he would have committed once re-established. For some reason, recruits think having that ND offer helps them somewhat when they are not going to go there anyway. Is there something about having an ND offer getting you a 10% discount at Chick -Fil-A or something>?

Lol. There is definitely something to be said for including ND in your top group. With all these kids concerned about their "brand" at such a young age, including ND in that top group gives the look that they care about academics and it gets them publicity from a very large fanbase, nationally. Even if there are not real intentions of attending the school. That's why its important to see what other schools are recruiting them as that can help identify if said prospects intentions are real. Not saying this is the case with Beal, just in general, I think we do see that a fair amount.

I'll wait until after his visit to start bitching about losing out on him.

I didn't mean to be a dick to anybody, but unless somebody has confirmation that his story of a family emergency (confirmed by reporters) is false, let's not level any judgment on the kid. By all accounts, he was the one to reach out to the staff and we know that his family has plenty of respect for ND. Let the kid act before we get as crazy a bunch of scUM fans.

We got Loy'd

Also I wouldn't take to much what UGA 24 7 says to heart. Those guys are just as off as our 24 7 board. But sometimes they have the scoop just like our board on 24 7

Either way can't fault him one bit for wanting to play under the best D coordinator in the country over BVG. I still think he take an OV to us in the end

We probably lead the country year in and year out as the school with the most recruits that always include ND in their top five.

I'm always surprised when people are "perplexed" about the decision process of 17 year old boys.

Can't really say we got "Loy'd" it's not his fault that Beal had a family emergency
