The only thing I can think of is a SEC bias. No disrespect to Baker, but Love earned that award. Now the award seems trivial.

Those Austin Peay, Middle Tennessee, UMASS and Georgia Tech passing attacks are formidable - not to mention the SEC slate known for such amazing QB play. I mean LSU scorched UGA for 36 points - 5 FGs and 3 TDs for eight total scoring drives is embarrassing against their inept offense. Granted they did it mostly on the ground but maybe Baker should have come up in run support and made more than 2 solo and 2 assisted tackles - 2 PBU against LSU, bravo. Big INTs vs Middle Tennessee and So Car though - big time plays there. 1 TFL and FF against Middle Tennessee too - I mean drop that game and he has virtually no negative play stats.

Aren't lower numbers a good thing for a corner? Doesn't it usually mean other teams aren't throwing the ball in your direction?

I'd like to see number of targets game by game for all of the top CBs. This is appalling, Love had the better stats in every category except INTs which was 2-1. He was much better in every other category.

UGA didn't play one team that was top 25 passing though in the reg season. They played two in the top 50 (Mizz and SC). So of course UGA won't get passed on as much. UGA did decent vs Tua in the CC, but Hurts carved them up.....
ND played 1 top 25, plus 6 more in the top 50.

Yes they did, everyone on the Midwest went after him hard. There was a lot of polite “thanks but no thanks” given out by JLove. We’ve got a picture of UM at Naz to prove it. Julian never cared about the star implications or announcing his offers after he committed but I promise they didn’t stop. After Julian got screwed out of the UA game he was really done with it all. One quick funny story for you guys is when Stanford visited and told Julian’s HC that he wasn’t a Stanford kid. The HC was furious and in hindsight it was utterly stupid both on and off the field. Julian was always going to end up at ND if they offered but Stanford would have been exciting for him and his family. Oh well, the HC will never bring that up with future Naz kids and try to inject personal feelings into kids recruitments but I’m petty like that so it’s already been brought up on multiple occasions with the McCarthy’s.
