I've never felt less comfortable being the leader with 5 days til NSD. But if you're going to go hunting for big bucks outside of your backyard this is how it goes and we shouldn't be surprised.

Technically #2 behind Standfort, according to DRob

Just a thought - but what do depth charts look like on these teams and is Drob possibly looking for who has better PT potential? Waiting until after signing day he can see where all the recruiting chips fall and have complete info for his decision?

In my honest opinion, based on what he has done so far, this is just lack of organization on his part. This is not a stituation where he was not allowed to take visits, a coach is potnetially leaving, a school is promising something about the recruiting class, etc.. It's about him not being able to get his act together.

Sometimes you just have to set a date and make a decision. He's goign to end up driving himself insane if he doesn't just commit somewhere. He thinks he is being thorough, but he's just being indecisve.

I'm having a harder time seeing this one work out for ND. indecisive people like other people to make up their minds for them. "Make me an offer I can't refuse." If he goes to Stanford, his decision is self-evident ("everyone keeps telling me that his is the most prestigious academic school in college football and arguably in the whole country"). If he goes to Alabama his decision is self-evident ("everyone keeps saying Saban is the best, period"). If he goes to Georgia, his decision is self-evident ("this is the home team, its great school, I made my family happy, etc.").

Notre Dame combines all the things that he is looking for, its the best fit and the best in the business, but it just doesn't have that one thing that makes it an easy sell which might bring a Georgia kid that level of comfort. Its about the total package and the big picture. Its an easy sell when its winning championships, but the echoes aren't echoing as loud quite yet.

Not calling out you or ISD, you guys are passing along what you hear, but yes, yes it is. I'll donate my vbucks to wooly if he visits ND again before deciding.

I agree with Koon's point here. If he didn't come back for the banquet he sure isn't coming back now.

Confused and indecisive kids rarely pan out at ND. Maybe he's just playing the game, but IDK how you can let a major decision like this just sit there and that's what it appears is happening.

Maybe its a case of him wanting to be at ND but his mother and/or brother is pushing UGA. The family dynamics are certainly different with his brother being his guardian.

This is going to drag on. Wake me up when we know if we have six more weeks of winter. I'm sure that'll happen before this guy makes a decision.

This has been my impression, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is something lucrative in it for them if he signs at either Bama or Georgia.

Neals are much more rare. Most kids know by signing day, for better or worse.

I thought we were just talking about indecisive kids (Kiel, Neal, Lynch, Tuitt etc) not kids that took it past signing day. At least that's how I was using it.

I agree, as well. Loy has been stating over and over again that the family is on board with ND, going as far to say that Mom and brother want ND. To me that seems like spoon fed dialogue from the family. It makes Loy look like he's got close connections and the family is able to hide true intentions. His mother has been against ND basically the entire cycle until the last few weeks, I find that odd.

Mhmm.

We need to start an IE slush fund for moments like these. 50,000 members... if everyone gave $10 we could lock this thing down lol...

Haha, right.

I guess, against, might not be the correct word but she's consistently said that she wants her boy close to home and Demetris has admitted as much.

Rookies....

The ROI on one time "investments" is extremely low. The better option is to make small investments over the course of two years with a few more frequent "investments" in December and January. If played right, one can use these "investments" as tax write offs... think in the form of a business trip expense.

Auburn holds a month long symposium on all this once a year around July. It allows everyone time to get their game plan together for the upcoming recruiting season. Seating is limited so sign up early. This year's symposium is called "Making the Most of Your End of Year Charitable Giving."

Are you suggesting "dollar-cost-averaging"? LOL

Yes... And I would recommend going with only those "investments" that are rated four or five stars. Too much unknown with those products that are rated lower than that. Plus, the lower rated products tend to have a larger self worth that simply can't be justified based on past performance.

But yet from my understanding she doesn't have custody of him and he doesn't live with her. Something is up here.

Yup. And again, how many times does a situation like this work out for a school like ND? It's weird, because I don't doubt for a second that ND "leads" right now... but I also think its far more probable than not that by the time he concludes the process he will choose somewhere else.

I agree. I don't follow recruiting as close as some of you but it seems these situations rarely, if ever, go ND's way. I wouldn't be surprised if momma is up for a "bonus" if he goes to UGA.

Potential secondary violation in using 'NDOne' (semi-truck) during assistant's Robertson visit yesterday

Notre Dame may have committed an NCAA secondary violation on Thursday by parking one of the school's 18-wheeler equipment trucks outside of recruit Demetris Robertson's house on Thursday morning.

Robertson was visited by Irish coaches on Thursday.

Having the Irish's 18-wheeler truck outside of Robertson's home in Savannah, Georgia, and promoting the visit is a potential violation of NCAA bylaw 13.4.3.5, compliance officials from schools in three different Power 5 conferences told ESPN. The bylaw prohibits publicizing the recruitment of a potential student-athlete.

NCAA bylaw 13.4.3.5 Miscellaneous Promotions reads: "Member institutions and their representatives of athletics interests are prohibited from financing, arranging or using recruiting aids (e.g., newspaper advertisements, bumper stickers, message buttons) designed to publicize the institution's interest in a particular prospective student-athlete."

However, a Notre Dame spokesperson said: "We believe this to be permissible and not to be in violation of bylaw 13.4.3.5 on the basis that it served as transportation of a coach to visit a prospective student-athlete."

Savannah is 908 miles from South Bend, Indiana, and is approximately a 13-14 hour drive.

"I'm confident that is not their normal mode of transportation," a Power 5 school compliance official said.

The NCAA does not comment on current, pending or potential violations.

Robertson said he was surprised to see the semitruck outside his house on Thursday.

"I'm still smiling," Robertson told ESPN.com's Tom VanHaaren. "I couldn't believe it; I'm still shocked. I didn't get a chance to see what was in it, because I had to hurry off to school."

If it is an NCAA secondary violation, it would not prohibit Robertson, the top-rated player in Georgia, from signing with the Irish.

Robertson is an ESPN 300 wide receiver and the nation's No. 62 overall prospect. He is being recruited by Notre Dame and has several other offers, including Alabama, Georgia and Georgia Tech.

On Thursday, Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford tweeted a picture of the truck outside of Robertson's house, referring to it as "NDOne."

Robertson said Notre Dame's truck was scheduled to visit his high school on Thursday, where it would be parked most of the day.

National Signing Day, the first day a recruit can sign with a school, is Wednesday.

I guess ISD is saying that because she was not definitive enough and said that "You're welcome to disagree" that she is suddenly saying that it's potentially a minor violation.

Just WOW ISD

Edit:

Article didn't load for me either the first time. I guess ESPN is suggesting that, ISD was giving her response I guess.

So all the positive buzz will be squashed as the nation runs with, "ND commits recruiting violations." Maybe we can come down on ourselves and reduce scholarships number, oh wait.
