What about the concept of consequence?

Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I am a firm believer in consequences...in responsibility. But when you see a kid rapid fire sink his future...makes me think he has a mental issue or two. Sure punish him for the laws he broke. But I think ND's role needs to be as support for his family, but I also think ND has no business trying to bring him back on campus...It is clear to me Kevin is beyond all that. He shouldn't be at ND anymore because he isn't good for ND and clearly ND isn't working for him. But he needs more than just being locked up if the goal is to help him get beyond whatever it is that makes a kid implode like he has. Being alone in his own head...well how'd that work so far?

There is a difference between prison and jail. He'll spend the next 47 days in jail.

Can't embed, but follow up tweets said he received the max sentence for his misdemeanor, which was 180 days, but only half the sentence ever served, so he gets the 43 days he was already in jail and just has 47 left. He also is no longer enrolled at ND. He still faces charges in two other counties, but after all his legal troubles are done he plans to go back to Jacksonville and receive drug addiction treatment.

you can't be physically addicted to pot, although psychological addiction is a different story. i've just never heard of someone getting drug addiction treatment for pot. usually it would just be a reason to go to a different form of therapy.

Please don't conflate addiction and dependency.

Addiction is marked by a change in behavior caused by the biochemical changes in the brain after continued substance abuse. To the addict, the substance itself becomes the obsession / priority and causes irrational behavior when the substance is not in their system.

^This. Plus I know some people check into rehab even for weed due to the ability to seek counseling and therapy even without the addiction.

The point is that you used the phrases physically addicted and physiologically addicted in the same sentence. I believe the phrase physically dependent is the proper choice.

Anybody ever hear what happened with Steph after this past spring? I'm curious if he made it to a CC or JUCO

A couple former-players were tweeting out support for KS, last week.

Some even going as far to say he was the best receiver they had ever faced/played with.

What could have been at ND....

Oh well, I'm glad he's turned things around. So often the links posted after a player departs has to do with criminal charges or worse. Really hope Kevin can make it to the league and keep his head on.
