So even if he makes great gains in the weight room over the calendar year since that photo was taken, I have a hard time seeing him being physically ready to contribute in a big way. I think he's a prime candidate for a redshirt year. If he does contribute, I would bet it would be in the slot.

Yeah, wasn't it Steph who came into Invasion without any fanfare and received an offer on the spot? Everyone was hoping that the top 100 athlete from Georgia (Marquez Callaway?) would pop, but instead the staff targeted Steph.

Yes he did receive an offer on the spot.

I still would have liked Calloway to be part of the team also.

Stepherson will never be as fast as Will Fuller, but Stepherson is bigger than Fuller.

I'll keep harping on this but Kevin has to improve on tracking the ball over his head/shoulder. He should have caught that deep ball on Saturday, was it an easy catch no, but that's a catch that has to be made if he wants to be elite. Not a shot at him. It's just something for him to practice in the offseason.

Not to explain away missed opportunities but I'm okay with our freshman WR missing some like that. He's proven his scholarship already, now it's just about enjoying his development over his 4 years.

We have a lot of weapons @ WR despite the youth. And Alize back next year.

Here's a bit more background to the thread. Essentially, a poster claimed he heard from someone today that McGlinchey and Nelson were going pro. I have a feeling his source saw a picture Alize put out on social media of them saying "good luck." However, it appears it was meant as good luck to opposing defenses trying to get through our o-line. He even said something like Wimbush will be sitting comfy in the pocket.

The poster also said he heard info on Stepherson having off the field issues that may impact his availability, and that Alize is still struggling with academics. Another poster came in later and said he has no clue on the other three players mentioned, but he also heard some whispers about Stepherson.

Again, no idea if it's true, hence the reason why I'm asking this board.

As I mentioned, it was two posters. The one you've stated and cardinalirish. Cardinalirish stated "cumulative occurrences" when someone asked about Stepherson.

I'm not worried........If he DOES not play next year, what do you all think our X position would look like? Right now it's just McKinley, and Finke (who mostly lines up at slot), I'm assuming Pouncey will play X but NSD hasn't come yet. Lil nervous.

That's if ND holds on to Pouncey. Denbrock leaving could hit our recruiting class. Pouncey liked a tweet by Andrew Ivins that Denbrock leaving could help Miami with Pouncey.

I mean a kid who was a freshman and was in a car with drugs and illegal firearm isn't going to shock me if he has additional off field issues. Neither is a kid having continued academic struggles when he couldn't get good enough grades his first semester at college.

Wow, thanks for posting this but man, losing Stepherson would be a huge blow. That woul leave us with only McKinley and Finke. I did t know that McKinley had a broken fibula last year. We didn't get a chance to see what he has but still.....If we do lose KS, I'd say moving Claypool to X should be a must.
