Scout: Decided to skip the UA camp this coming weekend to visit PSU. Currently plans to announce Aug 25th.

from some die hard psu fans around me, he is doing the hoke kind of recruiting....first he is the new guy in town so of course it gets them some buzz...be he is stating how they have guys lining up for their spots and u better get on board now...then once they give verbal he is basically saying he will take their 1st born son if they go back on their word or listen to others

i can see the appeal of happy valley to some of these guys...i really do think once the sanctions are done they'll be able to compete again. with that said right now i don't understand why these kids don't feel like the ball is in their court and are committing so early.

I'm really hating James Franklin.

Hailing from PA I have a hard time hating Penn St. So long as they aren't playing ND I'm cheering for them. It's a great university that has had some of their most prestigious faces make grave errors in judgement which has tarnished an otherwise terrific institution of higher learning. PSU churns out wonderful graduates who move all around the country and represent the state well. That being said we really needed this guy and while I was excited for Franklin to hopefully get PSU back on top, he better stop messing with recruits I want or all that good will I typed about is going to be gone out the window.

Said he is planning on visiting Ole Miss and Texas A&M and not sure about the other visits. He also said he will take all five visits.

Franklin pressured all these commits to commit early much like Hoke did a couple years ago and it might backfire on him. James Franklin is a mother trucking physco though. Started breaking down and crying in front of his players telling them how could he ever leave them and he loved them so much. Left a couple days later.

It would seem unlikely. Although Micah Dew-Treadway could be a strong side DE and that's where they would start him out, but I think they expect him to eventually move inside.

Depends on how things shake out for the Frozen Five.

Assuming that Ishaq is gone and there's no 5Y in the cards for Hounshell or Rabasa, we're projected to have 15/16 DL players on scholarship in 2015. So we've got room for one more.

McLean has been picking up interest from other schools lately, and currently has official visits set up for Washington State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Penn State. I don't have any confirmation right now, but from the looks of it, that PSU visit won't be taking place. Look for more reaction to this news tonight/tomorrow morning.

Last spring, my PSU fan friend was bragging that they had the #1 recruiting class in the country and that James Franklin is the best recruiter in the business. I love it that their class is falling apart and we got two of their recruits.
