Wasn't Bivin specifically recruited with the intent of being a center?

He was projected mostly at OT, but consistently praised for his versatility. Then he ended up playing C at an all-star game, and performed very well. Those two factors have caused some people to project him at C now.

But no one saw Elmer as a OG either, until he was. I'd guess that Bivin will be the "next man in" on the inside next year, and assuming McGlinchey starts at RT, Nelson will fill the same role at OT.

So, you don't think Nelson wins one of the starting G spots next year?

Shouldn't we be recruiting shorter OL so our 6 foot nothing QBs can see the middle of the field? Find some 6'1" 310lb guys with long arms that can scratch their ankles without bending over, that should do it right!

He might. Bivin's actually an inch taller than Nelson, so maybe it'll be the other way around.

Though Bivin's got an extra year in the program, so I'd still expect him to see the field before Nelson regardless.

LSU in home visit tonight. Dead period starts in four days so this is the last pitch to Tillery from LSU. Unlimited contact with the ND staff moving forward

Shea's Prediction: Notre Dame

Sonny's Prediction: Notre Dame

I thought I saw that he wasn't having any in-home visits other than ND.

Because we are going up against an elite recruiting staff. Ours is far from elite. That's how

Does unlimited contact include another visit from coaches?

Is that a dumb question?

Les Miles is a quirky bastard & I think he's done less w/ more talent than any HC in America BUT he's a damn good recruiter & doesn't want to lose out in any recruiting battle. If anyone can flip Tillery, it's Lesticles.

2015 - 9
2014 - 11
2013 - 5
2012 - 18
2011 - 9

These are according to 247. Our average class ranking is 10.4 but let's call it 11. That is top 8% classes in all of BCS schools! How is that not elite? Are we holding top 1% to elite? 5%? 7%?

Are you taking all the FBS schools into account with that 8%? I believe there is only about 60 power 5 schools (ACC, PAC12, Big10, Big12 and SEC). Those would be the schools that we should be compare against.

I was taking 128 Division 1 schools, sorry. It's 128 right? Regardless, top 11 over 5 year between 128 or 60 is still GREAT if not elite. What they do with that talent isn't the discussion. Simply who they recruit as a class.

So the recruits are either overrated or under coached.

My point is that comparing us against Tulsa, Air Force, Toledo, etc. doesn't make sense. We should be compared against our peers (the power 5 schools) which puts us closer to the high teens percentage wise. I agree that it is great, but it is not elite. Elite is a top 5 class or so (which we did achieve 1 year).
