ISD had a write up on him Thursday. Interesting prospect.

Big kid who says he is just starting to hear from school around the country. Hasn't spoken to the staff much but is very interested. Names academics as an important factor in his decision. Of Notre Dame, says they are top of the line academically and amazing at football. Says we are on the way back to being a powerhouse. If we decide we are interested then we will definitely get a visit.

Stanford offer, so there shouldn't be any academics hurdles.

We have a lot of what I'd categorize as medium to high interest with a LOT of really good prospects. The staff will have to play the wait-and-see game this year more than ever, IMO.

Especially for the first post in ~4 years since his OP in 2009.

I feel for smw though because unless you've made the mistake before or were around when the italics = sarcasm thing started there is absolutely no way to know that.

Dude hits like a freaking Mack truck. Sign him up.

I'm cool with the slow play on him though for a little while.

Man he is a great athlete. I definitely like his potential as an ILB for us. Almost reminds me of Anzalone. Would not be opposed to giving him an offer at all, although I get that we may want to wait and see what Morgan and Booker are gonna do.

Does he know K. Russel? I remember a top '14 prospect that does, but I'm not sure if its this guy (and I think it isn't). Anyway looks like a stud athlete, wonder were the staff likes him (not that that would stop an offer, just get the athletes- they'll work out somewhere).

Edit: Ahh I was thinking of Budda Baker, more of a DB prospect. Both are studs.

Looks like another athlete without a defined position on the field. Like Anthony Barr or James Wilder Jr some years ago.

this kid looks like a missile on the field. Is his competition that bad or is he just that big?

Yeah, that's on me. But as you said I'm not here often enough (3 posts in 8 years) to know the boards "inside baseball".

I'm with you guys in seeing him at ILB. 247 seems to REALLY like this kid in the LB corp, and since that's the only purely defensive grade I will say he has a high ceiling. And I want his evaluation sped up and offer made so we can get in the door on him.

His highlight tape reminds me of Jaylon Smith's in that since he is the best athlete of the field he makes RB look easy but his best position fit for the next level is LB. And for us that spot would be ILB most likely.

Note: As a massive Jaylon Smith fan, I wasn't comparing them as players just the way their highlight tapes could be perceived.

Looks like he could for sure end up at ILB the way he was hitting some of those guys, and obviously has good speed...I wouldnt mind seeing an offer, but saying that im not exactly sure where we sit with other elite ILB

Per Sampson, Downs is still very much interested in ND and keeps contact w/ Denbrock, staff may still be evaluating him.

Even if we do end up offering it seems we've given Stanford a big head start. Here's to hoping we offer, we sure could use him at ILB.

He is still really interested and we are starting to be in contact more. If we offer he will OV.

Also, wants to be a pharmacist so will major in Chem or something related. Academics are big for him

Would love to have this kid, love his size already. Interesting to see scout list him as a FB and how diverse the sites have him listed for position.
