And just to be crystal clear, I don't think you did anything wrong or otherwise out of line. I just wanted to clarify for the board the reporting of the reporting and the current understanding of the situation so everyone is on the same page. It's literally a question of semantics.

Yeah... that's literally why I just posted what I posted. Because it's important to clarify what surgery means in this context....

It's also not about "what I want to call it"... it's about premium sites contacting me saying "why is someone saying we reported that Watkins had surgery." Cool?

That's fine. That was my mistake. I only added the ISD because people were questioning me when I said he had surgery. So I wanted to verify with another source that indicated he was out and why. But didn't NDSean Report that he reached out to Matt at ISD and Matt said Nick had nothing done after I reported he did have something done? I do not know exactly what he had done, but I know some bone growth procedures to involve surgery where electrode stimulating devices are implanted and then taken out a few weeks later. A friend of mine broke his leg and had that done. Does ISD know the exact procedure done?

This is a picture ISD posted in their photo gallery from today.

Oh that's horrible. There's no way he's ever going to play again.

That's not what I stated. Matt passed to me that according to his sources, it didn't seem like Watkins had surgery done that day, but even he wasn't sure and there would likely be clarification today, which there was (somewhat). From what it sounds like, he had a procedure done earlier to help stabilize the bone, which kept him practicing, just not full contact.

As for what procedure was done, I don't know, I don't think anyone on ISD knows, and I doubt anyone outside of the gug knows. For know, looks like Watkins is non-contact until at least Texas week.

Like I said, I'm not trying to call you out or anything. I think we all want clarification on his health, which seems to be at the very least, clearer now than it was yesterday.

On the bright side, I'm hearing some very good things about Ash White, so there's definitely some form of silver lining from the Watkins injury.

Matt didn't even say that though. You keep misrepresenting what he said. Yesterday you had his sources "monitoring him most of the day" (really false), and now the above isn't completely true as well. He said that a source (not sources) was with him PART of the day and didn't mention a surgery. Matt was unaware of anything that had or hadn't happened.

Are YOU hearing something (like from sources), or are you talking about what everyone else is reading from the various sites? Not talking shit, it just comes off like you have more sources and I'd like to hear what they say.

Sorry for creating a lot of frustration with people. In hindsight, I probably should have checked on exactly what was done before posting. To recap, Nick posted on his snapchat story a picture of his arm in a sling with "surgery day". I talked with someone close to him and was told it was because his bone was not healing properly. I posted it here so those with better contacts than me could maybe find out exactly what happened and what his down time would look like. Lets hope his checkup in 4 weeks gives him an all clear. From the looks of how he was moving around at practice, I'm optimistic he will get good news.

Yes he did. Pretty much said that he had a source following Watkins some of the day (you are correct, poor wording on my part) and it didn't appear that he had surgery on that day, but he wasn't sure of any particulars. I don't know what else to tell you. It was quite a vague response. Most of my post right there was speculation on my part, not paraphrasing what Matt posted.

As for White, that's not from me, that's from experts on various sites, including ISD. I mentioned it because White was brought up a few posts back, and could realistically fight for a spot in the 2-deep.

I'm going to assume you are talking about Coleman.

This is why Watkins can't get back soon enough.

I feel very comfortable with Luke and a healthy Watkins starting with Love in the slot.

Coleman starting is not good. Miami and USC will eat him a live. Stanford, MSU, Ca Tech will torch him also.

Kelly said something along the lines that Nick could take a medical redshirt this year. Seems the bone growth in the forearm is not where they want it to be.

That is not how I read the article. I'm referring to the quote below:

Depending on how close Watkins is to returning, the cornerback could use this season as a medical redshirt year.

“With a nonunion fracture and the procedure that was done on Nick, we're going to have to see some growth there that will allow us to believe that he can come back in the next few weeks or we'll use this as a medical red shirt year for him,” Kelly said.

This is why the checkup this week is so important. If there has been enough growth, he should be back.

Man, this bummed me out. Sounds like he's a ways away and may be out for the year. Losing Butler, Watkins, Crawford is way too much attrition at that position. I don't have tons of faith in Coleman but I don't think he's terrible. He needs to step it up or Vaughn needs to really come on for us to be solid. Love seems great but I think they mainly want him at Nickel.

So, according to Irish247, apparently his bone scan went well and showed growth. They will do further testing next week to get a more definitive answer but things look promising. If he gets cleared, he could be back for Duke game but more likely will be October 1st.

I read this as well. Potentially great news.

That would be welcomed and not a game too soon!

The one TD that was thrown at him was virtually perfect coverage. He's pretty good.

I thought the TD against perfect coverage was thrown against Julian Love. The other TD the WR caught the ball and then tight ropes the sideline. Was that TD against Watkins.
