Nope, Sherm. If he tore it AFTER the season, then he'd be all ND.

Hurd is going to be a beast if he can avoid injuries. He's a big boy and is going to take a lot of body shots at the next level.

As far as Malone goes... WANT.

Out for the season w/ a torn labrum

What gives?

John Adams: Why Tennessee will be better off without Hurd
John Adams , john.adams@knoxnews.com 3:18 p.m. CDT October 31, 2016

Jalen Hurd might have been Tennessee's most talented player. But the Vols will be better off without him.

...

Hurd claims he wants a transfer with 4 games left in the season ... and he wants to go to a school that will let him play TE or WR ... AND he expects to go pro after this season. Why transfer? Just go pro. A 5 star RB, why change positions, now?

There apparently are injury issues as well, or at least, claims of injuries.

Geez, I manage 25 in my group at work. But you couldn't pay me enough to try to "coach" today's "student athletes".

There's something going on at UT, but I get a sense of "entitlement" coming from Hurd.

Hurd is obviously a bad apple. At the same time, Butch Jones obviously created this situation by his program management. Tennessee signed 32 guys in '14 and 30 in '15... when you don't give a crap about your players, you get the same back. They'll only support and respect a mercenary mentality if they're getting results on the field.

Yeah, that post floating around from Hurd's uncle smells like a bunch of BS...

Hurd is disgruntled about how he's been used in their offense, because they aren't running enough power formations? Even if he was sold a bunch of BS by the coaching staff (completely plausible that Butch would tell a kid he would change his entire offense, especially from what I've heard from his time at UC), that is still 99% on the player and his *handlers* for even taking the risk of going into Jones' spread system. YOU CAN'T GET UPSET AT THE LACK OF POWER-I WHEN YOU SIGNED UP TO PLAY IN A SPREAD SYSTEM. If you actually bought it when they said they'd change the whole system for you, you gotta sleep in the bed you made.

The only part of the post that seems to actually seem like a substantial issue is the injury thing... if Tennessee/Jones were forcing him out there while he was banged up and/or concussed, that is a HUGE problem, and probably lawsuit material.

Otherwise, I think Hurd is just a monumental crybaby that made a poor decision of where to play his college football. I will forever cherish the moment he got annihilated while trying to showboat a TD.

Remember when TJ Jones got away with flipping the ball away on the 1 foot line after getting a big breakaway TD?

Edit: looked it up, and I didn't recall correctly. (Thought 2010 Michigan for some reason) Do remember when he did it though.

Maybe. Heard he wants to play WR. Our lack of any power/run game may be enticing. Just show him our pass on 4th and inches from last night week.

Shit, just show him the NCST film........

If any of the rumors about this kid's attitude are true, you want to steer very, very clear of him.

Sad if the rumors are true. Saw him play a couple times his senior year and talk after the game and seemed very down to earth. Didn't think he would turn out to be a prima dona.

lol seriously? Him possibly being a cancer aside, why would he leave Tenn because they run a spread to join ND...where they run a spread? Regardless of position change, that would just be dumb.

Well, I mean, the guy is supposedly disgruntled because he signed a LOI with a spread football team, expecting them to run the Power-I...

So who's to say that he won't make another catastrophically and monumentally terrible decision?

Sorry I have still not figured out how to embed tweets from my phone but he tweeted the reason he transferred. Basically, in a nutshell, he signed to play for a team that ran the read option and he felt they should have changed their whole philosophy to suit his talents and needs.

As ridiculous as that may sound on the part of Hurd, I'll bet dollars to donuts that it is exactly what he was promised while being recruited.
