I wouldn't mind a reset set switch for next year. Wherever Kizer goes, I think he needs that speedy receiver to take the top off the defense.
If you like NFL football answer this question. Would you think your team was nuts for wasting a 1st round draft pick on Kizer? Bear fans; I understand if you think maybe it wouldn't be nuts.
Get your degree and go get your money. Great kid, and has a huge upside. But, Brian Kelly can't get him ready for the NFL. He now has regressed under BK. I would advise him to get his degree and go to the NFL.
Not saying is is a great QB here, but a lot of that is on his head coach and Sanford. They are made him worse than last year.
Understand, but I also remember tons of plays he had made when other things have happened.
Save these forum posts, and wait till after the draft. He won't be selected lower than the 2nd round. If people think 4th or 5th they haven't looked at the draft at all.
He has far more talent than Manion, Grayson, Petty, Brissett, Kessler. And here he has played in a far more pressurized situation here at ND.
Like I said, I think the coaches did a horrible job with him. Just look at how our QBs have progressed under BK. How did Everett do? How about Malik? How about Tommy? How about Andrew? How about himself? Track record shows that BK has done a crappy job in getting his QB's ready here at ND. So, I disagree. He has missed WR's, he has missed reads.
has been inaccurate, etc.
How about our oline this year? How is our running game going? How are our WR's doing in getting open? But, it is on Kizer's reads. Is the wrong offense being run. The problem is far bigger than Kizer. Zaire is worse too. Like I said our running game is pathetic, and our WR's are average at best. It is the total package of problems.
We can agree to disagree on this. But, I will say I do understand your points. They have merit.
I saw when they took him out before the final play he was mad about getting hit someone was talkin smack if someone was lip reading what did he say?
Kelly needs to look at what worked for the defense this year when they removed BVG: they simplified the defense, and the defense responded. Maybe we need to do the same thing for the offense.
Looking at all those QBs above, some were successful their first year and then regressed the following year. What was a common theme? The offense was simple for the QBs in their first year and it didn't put a lot on the QB's shoulders. When the offense became all about the QB, the pressure crushed every one of them from Tommy to Golson to Kizer. To go along with that though, we need to make the running game a commitment to take that pressure off the QB.
To me, he's more of a 5th round project than a 1st round pick. I've been skeptical on the hype since Duke. NFL QBs that are successful throw with anticipation and accuracy into tight windows. Accuracy and timing rules all. And he hasn't shown the ability to do that really ever. So I'm not sure why anyone would have him high in their draft board.
It looked like he said "**** you B****" to someone. Nice to see some fire out of him.
Totally agree. All the hype happened during the Texas game for him, but we all see how Texas turned out. Meant nothing. He's regressed throughout the season.
