3rd preseason game is typically when starters get most of their work, so this bodes well for DK.

It seems like a forgone conclusion.

I'm not sure how you could watch both, not saying you necessarily, and come away thinking Brock should be the starter. I don't believe DK is necessarily ready, but Brock is just F'ing terrible.

The Lobster's so bad that the Browns are trying to trade him

@Browns QB @DKizer_14 describes how his college experience with @FightingIrishND has helped ease his transition to the @NFL.
"It was great to be able to get a few humiliating losses under my belt early. That's really going to help ease my transition to the Cleveland Browns."

Agree he's not ready, but with no sure fire starter no reason to wait.

Yea, he's gives them the best chance to win. Plain and simple. He also probably increases the value of the WR's, from a fantasy perspective. As he'll be far more accurate downfield.

From the various articles that I read earlier in the year, keeping Osweiler on the roster was never really the plan. The trade the Browns made for Osweiler, was all about getting a second round pick to help the rebuild process and the fact that they were significantly under the Salary Cap as well as the Salary Cap floor.

The plan was always to trade or cut Osweiler before the season started. The pre-season appears to have been just a showcase hoping that Osweiler performed well enough that someone would be desperate to trade for him. If nobody trades for him, there is a chance they just cut him.

They took a real flier on Brock... if it works great, if not... they had more than enough cap room to eat one year of that salary and continue to stock pile high draft picks.

Agree... but I hope he doesn't turn in to another Tim Couch. Poor guy got his brains beat out his first couple of years in Cleveland and never was able to recover.

Kizer will be alright.. That offensive line in Cleveland is one of the best 5 or 6 in football. He won't be getting hit left and right and can grow in the position cuz they don't expect to win 12 games a year.. His season will look a lot like Carson Wentz's if he starts from week 1

True. But I think Hue Jackson is a better teacher and coach than Chris Palmer. How much will that matter? Who knows.

Palmer destroyed David Carr's career in Houston. Couch had some questions about his arm coming out of college, then injuries solidified his inability to throw the ball.

Happy for Kizer but he'll see stuff from Steelers first week that he has never seen before. Maybe Tuitt welcomes him to the league.

Hue Jackson is a QB whisperer.

He's gonna lean on Crowell, and put Kizer in good situations, as long as their OL holds up.

If they have two serviceable WR's emerge, the Browns won't be terrible.

So long as they stick with him, one of Cleveland's bigger issues over the last couple decades has been giving up on head coaches and quarter backs super early in the process...

Also, for those thinking he's being thrown to the wolves, Couch was put out on an expansion team with a shitty line... Cleveland's line right now grades as one of the best in the NFL... that can only help... time will tell.

Looks like he may be out as the starter. Decision TBD for this weekend.

Could you handle a situation worse if you’re the Browns? Start someone who everyone knows isn’t ready. Now bench him when he inevitably does poorly instead of sticking with him. Feel bad for Kizer. Cleveland: where QBs go to die.

Thought the same thing.. If u start the guy week 1, u have to stick with him and develop him.. dumping him after 5 weeks is how u stay in this vicious cycle of QBs

Not to mention the fact that they said they would stick with him if he struggled, then he inevitably struggles, and they bench him.

They are just horrific with the management of Quarterback talent. They are pushing 30 different starters since '99. That's not just a bad coach, or a bad GM, or bad player scouting. That is simply poor culture. They have a culture of being a piss poor team. I'm not sure how you change that.

Let the Rooney and Mara families form a joint venture...in a decade the browns would be healthy

As a life long ND and Browns fan, I was afraid this would happen. They have the worst group of receivers in the NFL and can not run the football beating an overrated oline. How is a rookie QB supposed to have success with this team?

Of all the coaches to save the Browns from messing up yet another QB's development, I figured Hue would be the one guy who could do it.

I'm almost ready to throw in the towel on my Browns fandom. I knew they'd mess this up, they simply cannot get out of their own way. Kizer should have never seen the field this year. Now, he's in the same situation the Browns put Quinn in, or that Carolina put Clausen in. ND QB's cannot catch a freaking break, and the Browns are the worst. This is incredibly frustrating. Sorry for the rant.
