I do. Did you see him walking on the sidelines or watch the video where he is crying in the locker room for "letting his team down"? The guy suited up and was tested before the game by the staff. The decision was theirs.

Right, but to "truther" this whole thing... why does he go watch the game in the press box then? Never seen that before for a player in his situation. Also, I took his "letting the team down" to mean he had regret over choosing to sit out the game and watching his buddies lose a close one.

I don't know, probably the same reason that Brandon Bell from PSU came back to the sidelines after he broke his arm in the Rose Bowl? I would actually think the opposite, it would be odd for a scratched player to watch the game from the press box with coaches instead of rooting on his brothers from the sidelines.

That's exactly what he did? Peppers watched the game from the box, not the sideline. That's precisely my point. So it sounds like you agree that Peppers tweaking a hammy in a walkthrough and then not watching the game with his teammates on the sideline is fishy.

Ahh. Misunderstood you. I didn't know that he watched it from the box. That is strange.

Right? Isn't it weird?

Like... sure, we should all take his injury at face value.

But a star player in peak condition getting a hamstring tweak in a walkthrough that is just bad enough that he can't play but will be healed by his pro day... then not watching the game on the sideline with his teammates he ostensibly "cares so much about"... makes me give some side eye.

When was the last time anyone heard of a star player getting hurt in a walkthrough before a bowl game? I literally cannot remember single instance in the past decade. He then "tests" it in front of the camera before retreating up to a box? I've seen lots of players who can't go or get hurt in a game return to the sideline... I've never seen one suited up on game day disrobe and go up to a press box away from his teammates for the entirety of the game.

And then he tearfully regretted not playing in a game that was a classic... and says he "let his teammates down"... hmmm... sounds like what someone would say who chose to make a business decision when he could have played. Could also be the warped view of someone who was truly injured, but I certainly see the circumstantial evidence that points to a fabricated injury.

Anyways, he was probably hurt. But I totally understand how/why someone thinks he was faking.

thanks for this wooly, i was unaware he tried to go. Just heard it was game day decision. I assumed it was similar reasons of Fournette/McCaffrey.

Fournette has been hurt. McCaffrey isn't.

Could it be he wanted to take the McCaffery route, but didn't want to take the heat so he "tweaked" a hammy during warm ups to avoid any backlash? Being up in the coaches box was strange and you're right, he was on his phone. He wasn't watching the game whenever they showed him.

Yes, I think that's the plausible "truther" angle. If you were going to fake an injury, it'd be a hammy. If you hadn't faked an injury, you'd probably be on the sideline. If you had faked an injury and immediately regretted it, you might cry about how you let your team down.

Yeah, but he was seen on the sideline before the game getting worked out by the coaching staff. That was clearly said before the game. That would be a pretty big spectacle done just to hide him not wanting to play. Not a Harbaugh move whatsoever.

Like I said before, I get it... but it is highly unlikely.

You guys are funny. If he was Irish we would have just chocked it up to bad luck and defended him, but because he went to scUM he's a piece of shit that quit on his team and, the funniest part of all, he isn't that good.

A lot of Michigan fans have roasted him worse than anything posted here.

Also, he isn't that good... at least in the sense that he was wildly over hyped by the media and received many accolades he didn't deserve: http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...isman-finalists-2016-jabrill-peppers-michigan

Don't think Butt's comments have anything to do with Jabrill.

Agree with Nuke to some extent ppl here are looking for a reason to villify Jabrill rn.

I think they were about not playing in general, not specifically jabrill. But he's included....

Everyone did the same shit about McCaffrey and fournette so this isn't unique to peppers.

Also read some stuff he may have actually been suspended by Harbaugh which in that case you can question him in regards to what he possibly did, but not his desire to play with his teammates in his last game.

Actually just brings up more questions. If he was suspended why all the hamstring bullshit.

No need to test hammy if not allowed to play anyways.

I heard that he's really an alien and the real Peppers is on Mars.

"Peppers isn't that good". Lolz. The guy is played all over the damn field and every team had to gameplan around him every week. He played five different positions and was a heisman candidate. If he wore blue and gold the collective boner would have reached the moon.

Also, there is no player in this draft I would want my Bears to draft over him. None.

Actually, we can question his desire to play. I also believe everything looked engineered and I don't hate Jabrill. I think he's gross for choosing UM but I've admitted he's an incredible athlete and I think he could be a really good S/NB, maybe even corner. But he hasn't produced at an incredibly high level and that's concerning for someone with his numbers (ie- freak).

I thought Peppers had a great season for them, and don't get the knocking of his ability.

Personally though, having seen about 1/2 of both teams' games, I thought Adoree Jackson was even more impactful for USC

Nothing against JP but the area players on several teams that could do exactly what he does in playing several positions. They don't because there is really no need to. I bet KVR could have done similar things with his athleticism.JPs production was nothing more than average and probably due to trying to do to much with to many positions.

As far as the injury... who knows. But the fact that he seemed disinterested in the game makes one question his actual commitment to his teammates. Hurt or not, he should have been on the sidelines cheering his teammates on. Instead he was in the booth on his cell phone. Not a good look by him.

“'I wanted to be on the sideline,' Peppers said. 'Coach Harbaugh made me go upstairs to the press box. I think he said it would be like a spectacle or something like that. It was best if I was up in the press box. I was doing whatever I could up there, doing what I could to help the team, helping with personnel, things like that.'

He said he was frequently texting former Michigan defensive lineman Willie Henry, who was on the sideline, telling him certain things he was seeing from his press box perch."

Somber Jabrill Peppers coy about future: 'I don't know'

Idk Wooly, there are better pure safeties and better pure OLB's out there.

Unless the Bears NEED a run-first nickle defender, which Peppers is no doubt the best in that specific regard, then there seems to be a bit more value and proven talent out there in other players.

And I'm not taking away from Peppers... his versatility creates tremendous value. I just think that value is better in college than for an NFL team.

My opinion is that Peppers should have been full-time on offense. I think he'd be a top-10 pick as a RB/WR tweener if he would have focused three years on that side of the ball. Usually, we talk about college athletes that should have switched to defense to reach their pro potential, but I think this is an instance where a really good defender could have been elite on offense.

Did you see him trying to hid up in the booth for the game, not down supporting his teammates on the sidelines. Instead he was, fairly clearly, trying to hid behind people in the booth. So obvious that once it made the broadcast they flashed back up there to talk about him more and magically he was gone.

Texting a Coach on sideline my ass. They wear headsets to communicate with booth and have no time to be checking their phone to see what a kid not playing thinks is going on.

Oh, he was hiding from the cameras he could see? Give me a break. You don't know what he was thinking any more than anyone else. What you WANT is for him to be the guy you outlined. But you have no clue and neither does anyone else here. Peppers was a model teammate and model student-athlete during his time at Michigan. There is no reason to not give him the benefit of the doubt.

Except... if you wish him ill will simply because of what team he played for...
