Ahh. Misunderstood you. I didn't know that he watched it from the box. That is strange.
Right? Isn't it weird?
Like... sure, we should all take his injury at face value.
But a star player in peak condition getting a hamstring tweak in a walkthrough that is just bad enough that he can't play but will be healed by his pro day... then not watching the game on the sideline with his teammates he ostensibly "cares so much about"... makes me give some side eye.
When was the last time anyone heard of a star player getting hurt in a walkthrough before a bowl game? I literally cannot remember single instance in the past decade. He then "tests" it in front of the camera before retreating up to a box? I've seen lots of players who can't go or get hurt in a game return to the sideline... I've never seen one suited up on game day disrobe and go up to a press box away from his teammates for the entirety of the game.
And then he tearfully regretted not playing in a game that was a classic... and says he "let his teammates down"... hmmm... sounds like what someone would say who chose to make a business decision when he could have played. Could also be the warped view of someone who was truly injured, but I certainly see the circumstantial evidence that points to a fabricated injury.
Anyways, he was probably hurt. But I totally understand how/why someone thinks he was faking.
