While I agree that Duke probably has lower standards than ND/Stanford (for that matter ND has lower standards for FB players than Stanford) but Duke rarely takes Juco's (I don't remember the last Juco player that they signed) and still has rather high standards.

A couple years ago under Cutcliffe, he's now in the NFL as a reserve TE. Point was simply that no one should read into them being listed as any indication of him being a take for ND. That's the natural follow up to seeing Duke on the list.

Again, no idea if that's his top group or what.

duke takes jucos at basketball i believe, im not sure if its the same guidelines but.

edit: now that i think about it, academic standards probably have to be radically different for basketball.

i hope he ends up at duke from all the schools hes listed... woof to all those schools.

I don't know of Duke ever taking a JUCO in men's basketball. I do know that they take transfers (Rodney Hood, Seth Curry, Dahntay Jones, and Roshown Mcleod).

Don't know if those are the schools he's considering or what... but quite the hodgepodge. And no, Duke does not have the same standards as ND/Stanford/etc. and is open to JUCOs/whoever, so if that's a school he's considering don't take that as any indication of him being a take for ND.

I was thinking it could be the mail he got today

Yeah... like I said, no idea if that's his top group or what... totally could be just who he talked to or got mail from. Seemed like an odd hodgepodge. And it would be weird to see Oklahoma out of it.

I think those are his picks for rivalry week.

thinks OU is close to re-offering.

Same old same old with ND we are still "recruiting him" and if he were a take we would be tough to beat

From Wiltfong:

I talked to Starks and he still loves ND.

I checked again with sources around the Irish program, and while the two parties still communicate, nothing has changed and he is not a take.

IMO, if Starks ever became a take ND would do it with as little fanfare as possible, i.e. the public would find out when he signs/enrolls. I think ND would want it to be as under the radar as possible.

I don't think they would want this sort of PR issue (and won't offer him) but the above is the only possible way I see this playing out where a kid expelled from his HS comes to play football at ND.

Imagine if he was caught selling drugs at ND. It would be a nightmare.

I'd like to imagine him going to ND, turning his life around, killing it on the field, graduating with a ND degree, and living a productive post football life.

Per 247, UCLA expected to go all in on Starks now after missing out on Mixon.
