As someone in high school these days, its really not like that. Its more like,

"i see you've been getting all sorts of attention from fans on twitter, thats awesome"

"ha yea I am kind of a big deal/celebrity"

I don't think tweeting recruits is a good practice, but its not like they're tweeting at random 17/18 year olds, these are guys who think they are on top of the world, minor celebrities and can handle themselves.

I don't think it helps at all so thats why I wouldn't do it, its really just a waste of time. But its not like its going to be looked at as odd since so many ignorant fans do it, just my opinion

As someone who knows multiple D1 prospects, its more what NDdomer2 said IMO. They enjoy the followers but hate the tweets most of the time

crazy how being 7 years removed from hs th way things have changed.

my friends, or i, whichever way it would have been would never have let someone hear the end of it if they had creepers tweeting them.

I know a few D1 prospects too. Maybe I didn't present my thought clearly, they don't like talking to the people who tweet to them, they just like the status of having "fans"

I'll agree w/ that. Most find it annoying and creepy but find it entertaining and like having fans

nothing good can come from any of our "fans" tweeting recruits.

ALL downside...with ZERO upside.

Wait a minute … so one of Notre Dame’s top remaining prospects … a guy who’s down to a few schools including Notre Dame … sends out a tweet asking his followers which school he should choose. Obviously, he’s looking for responses from those fan bases. It would probably be better if all Notre Dame fans just ignored his request completely and left him hanging.

I think I get it now.

By the way, I’m just a lowly recruit stalker. I’ve gotta say I’m impressed. You gentlemen are recruit stalkers IN ADDITION to being stalkers of recruit stalkers. I bow before greatness, yet at the same time I’m honored that I’ve now become the target of your stalking.

Even though Luatua asked for responses from his followers and retweeted mine, I’m sure you’re right … I’m sure he thought it was really creepy.

I feel so bad now.

If your claim to fame is a recruit retweeting you then great. Personally, I think tweeting a recruit is ridiculous. It serves no purpose whatsoever.

Paul, I just stalked your twitter page (I know, I'm a creep) and if your behavior was as innocent as you make it seem, you would not have a reputation as someone that "lives for this". You have tweeted at Luatua several times this month when he doesn't ask for a response. I'm afraid of what I'd find if I went back beyond July 2. If he asks for a response from fans...rock out. If not, back off.

Sincerely,

NDWorld247 - stalker of recruit stalkers extraordinaire.

p.s. For god's sake leave Elijah Hood and Nyles Morgan alone.

Not necessarily! What if it was a really hot female ND fanatic? there would be a little upside

I don't use my twitter account at all and I don't really know if the boundaries are different then facebook, but I feel like twitter is less personal than FB so it's more socially acceptable for a fan to tweet a recruit (not saying it isn't creepy, but just less creepy). In this case I think it shouldn't come off as creepy because he asked a question knowing he has many fans from different schools fallowing him and probably expected/wanted them to answer, he probably just was trying to impress a girl or some friends at how many people would respond. Which, IMO, is normal for a kid in High School.

But I agree that twitter wont decide on where a kid will ultimately want to go to school and if it does, then we probably wouldn't want him anyway.

edit: I agree with NDworld247.....NDIrishManiac stop tweeting the recruits unless they ask for it

Well just for starters, anyone who so clearly believes their raison d'etre is to be a fanatic about a football team is pathetic. Seriously, get a life. There is more out there than Notre Dame. Get of Twitter, leave your mom's basement, and go for a run.

When you add to the fact that you obviously get off on tweeting at HIGH SCHOOL KIDS, it's just inexcusable. Really. If you're like 16, you're recklessness is stupid. If you're 25+, it's become incorrigible.

He retweeted you? Why didn't you say so? That a horse of a different color. It's like you guys are practically best friends!

I seriously bet you brag to your frien...err...mom that recruits RT you.

Maybe they're more creeped out by the puppet with glasses in the mini ND helmet.
