I saw the video posted. Does anyone feel he may grow into a kind of hybrid TE/WR?

I had thought of that as well. If he continues to grow and is able to put some weight on.. man, it'll be great to watch. As it stands, I think he is superb, and will do well with our spread.

I absolutely love this pick up...Had a conversation with a close friend, who was a football manager when we attended ND, who didn't exactly feel the same way (jokingly)...

Me: Huge pick up with getting Corey Robinson (David Robinson's kid...)

Friend: "why they f*ck do i want david robinsons kid playing football? David robinson didnt play football...I want him dunking basketball, because I'm sick of getting knocked out of the 1st round of the tournament...but seriously, I think I may have an erection."

This is sheer genius on the part of the coaching staff. They were on Corey early and I really think this "gamble" is going to pay off. He runs a 4.6 now and that is almost guaranteed to come down to a 4.55 - 4.5. He is probably going to grow 2 or 3 inches. He already has superior hands and concentration. can you imagine a 6'7 WR with 4.5 speed and great hands??? Plus he has his feet planted firmly on the ground! This is one where you completely ignore the recruiting stars...completley.

+1. Ignoring them even more than I already do.

Just watched the video again - hard not to appreciate the athleticism the kid has for his size. He's only going to get bigger and fill out that frame.

Moreover, you know that coming from a family where his dad is such an accomplished professional athlete, Corey is going to know how to handle and be prepared to work for everything. He's grown up watching his dad handle things like a pro. I'm excited to have a guy like this on the team.

welcome corey.

need one more stud WR, and as was stated we have plenty of time to be very picky about who we bring in.

Welcome aboard. This is starting to look really good if they can keep it together and keep this up.

Welcome to the family Corey! Great pick up, I like to hear good concentration and hands.

If there were more folks like The Admiral in the NBA today I might start watching it again. I do feel sorry for whoever sits behind him at games though. Pretty sure I'll be safe since I doubt they'll have nose bleeders.

Yes Yes Yes! Welcome to ND Corey...If he has half the heart his father has (which it seems like he does plus some), then the sky is the limit for this young man!

Its twitter, same as posting on facebook. If they met in real life, or if tuck was encouraged by the staff to reach out to him, then violation.

Only a violation if Tuck was asked by coaches to do it. He can say anything he wants to the recruit just like you or I. He is not part of the team any more therfore does not go by same rules as let's say a Tyler Eifert.

Standing applause in welcome, young man!

As far as what you might accomplish on the football field at Notre Dame: I'll bet you've already noticed that Coach is installing a very creative use of double TE/"Big WR" alignments with Tyler Eifert-type players. You are perfect for that. I have a vision of a very talented and imposing person named Robinson in a Notre Dame uniform completely intimidating some poor DB or LB before the snap is even made.

Welcome Corey. With your size and work ethic I am excited. I predict his sr yr at nd Corey will be 6'7 230 and have 9 red zone td's to contribute to a national championship year! Go Irish!

Really happy about this addition. There had been questions or doubts last night about how David Robinson would allow a commit to Notre Dame the day of a visit to Wake. This quote just shows how much class David Robinson has, and shows how to do it right:

"Wake Forest was a great school, and we wanted to have an opportunity to get a look at them. Wake Forest is a beautiful campus, an incredible school with a great coaching staff, but the discussions kept coming back to Notre Dame."

From ESPN story that NDdomer2 posted earlier

I would have said something like this except the words don't come to me with as sharp an edge as to our resident, resident. Great post Mike!

I further hope that you bring some of the character and personality traits that I have observed in your father, that of a Renaissance Man. I think that overt statement of excelence and sportsmanship above all, would be a great example for all fans, as it exists on campus, just is not so overtly reperesented in sporting matters.

I wish you luck, and after your mastery of French and Italian, might I suggest Gaelic Irish? Here is a starter: Go raibh míle maith agat! Go gcuire Dia an t-ádh ort!
