A poster on BGI said he is hearing that AQM is at miami this weekend. Sapp or wilting haven't confirmed it but thought it was interesting

Wow....... this is... interesting? I'm really, really hoping it's because he already made his travel arrangements to ND for next weekend and didn't want to go through reshuffling stuff.

Really sucks because this is definitely the better weekend to be at ND... next weekend will be dead. Sigh.

Redfield and Muhammad are must gets!

So we pretty much run the awards show last night, are playing in the Title Game and have limited spots left.... and the two guys we are suppose to be leading for are taking visits elsewhere?

Recruiting is crazy.

Last time I checked neither AQM or Redfield are committed so there is nothing wrong with them visiting other schools.

You seemed to be questioning why two uncommitted recruits would be taking visits which makes no sense.

I didn't say that there was anything wrong with it or that they didn't have the right too. I just found it weird that after a day of such significant praise of our program, the two big name recruits we lead for decide to visit other schools. It is an unusual occurrence.

Baffled is the word that comes to mind for me. Not upset but almost shocked that if there was one weekend to OV this would be the one. Also of all places Miami who is a polar opposite. Recruiting is crazy.

Redfield already used his official to Notre Dame and it's been known he would be at USC this weekend so that one is understandable.

AQM on the other hand is a strange one, no doubt.

Perhaps to reaffirm just how much they love ND?

I don't understand what the big deal is. He will most likely commit at the US Army game and only has these next few weeks to take visits. I know he's been rumored to be favoring ND, but I still expected him to visit other schools

My post could be misinterpreted as a freak out but definitely wasn't meant to. But I think this is definitely an unseen twist that should raise an eyebrow. Again if it was Alabama or USC which have been mentioned, that's one thing but Miami seems a little off

Not to mention more possible sanctions hanging over Miami. I don't know why anyone would go around that place within a 100 mile radius.

A kid like AQM deserves a lot better than Miami. I'm not really worried

No kidding!! "Excuse me 18 year old guy. Would you be interested in a free trip to Miami?" Its a no brainer guys. We'd all do the same. Relax. He's coming to Notre Dame.

This isn't really THAT out of left field. He did say earlier in the fall that Miami was working hard on him. More recently he has also given interviews where he didn't mention them though, it's true.

I am uneasy about this because he hasnt visited ND, nor have any visit plans been finalized. He only has a few weeks before his announcement date. He's not going to pick ND without visiting, is he? And he didnt come when he had a great opportunity. Hope he finalizes plans to come out next weekend. That will reassure me.

Since the Bosco kids don't really get to play the recruiting game till after their season is over, this doesn't surprise me. There will be more visits by the coaching staff I'm sure and AQM is scheduled to be here next week. There is no quit in our coaches and they will be fighting for AQM, Redfield, Bryant, and Folston till signing day! Should be a fun ride!

Not worried at all. If he is dumb enough to go to Miami, then I don't want him anyway. But this kid is NOT dumb.

Lets take a look at this from AQM's view point. You have planned to be in the state championship game this weekend so your ND visit is scheduled for next weekend. You lose the semifinal game so now this weekend is open. You can stay in NJ and look at girls dressed like this

Or you go visit Miami and see girls dressed like this

This kid loves everything about ND and hasn't even seen the place yet. There is no way he's dropping the Irish for a sinking ship.

Alright fine, I'll be that guy...

Was Louis Nix not once committed to Miami? Just because a kid doesn't pick ND or a great academic school that graduates a lot of players does not make him dump. Kids look for all sorts of different things in college, and people have different priorities. Maybe AQM is planning on going to the NFL and thinks it won't affect his plan no matter where he goes, so he wants to go somewhere with nice weather. Or maybe he likes the Miami coaching staff.

Its all irrelevant really, because AQM will be Irish come NSD

Yeah, this is what I think is going on too. Still, doesn't change that fact that he took a semi-shady visit to Miami when we wanted him to come out for the banquet, and still hasn't finalized plans to visit ND. It could mean nothing, but it also kind of looks like we are not a top priority.

I hate how people accuse me of freaking out when I make posts like this. I am quite calm. But like I think GITF says, it's best to look at what they do, not what they say or what you hear, and I don't love that he went to Miami instead of ND this weekend. But I do think he'll still end up Irish; all those reports of strong interest or even silent commitment can't have been wrong, can they?

I won't accuse you of freaking out but I thought that it was confirmed that he is coming next weekend.
