Another video interview with Jaylon after his committment. But in this one, Jaylon drops the bomb that his brother probably would've chose ND if he would've had the grades. Excellent Interview

<script src="http://player.espn.com/player.js?&playerBrandingId=4ef8000cbaf34c1687a7d9a26fe0e89e&pcode=1kNG061cgaoolOncv54OAO1ceO-I&width=576&height=324&externalId=espn:8008844&thruParam_espn-ui[autoPlay]=false&thruParam_espn-ui[playRelatedExternally]=true"></script>

Good interview... love the part at the end where when asked about recruiting other guys to join his class, he kind of smiled and said... "I have a real good influence..."

Saw that Alexander was ranked 6th. I doubt he comes here but I know he has been showing interest. Other guy I noticed was Travis Johnson at 77. Big kid and have noticed a lot of talk of a second TE. Maybe he could grow into one. Just some random ideas.

FSU 247 guy has been screaming for a while now that Johnson is destined for TE.

Of course if Robinson grows a few more inches and packs on some lbs he could be too.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this. It's from the OSU 247 version of the ND "tunnel vision":

**Not Buying The Hype? … Notre Dame commitment Jaylon Smith – younger brother of Ohio State tailback Rod Smith – is ranked as the best outside linebacker in the country by 247Sports and the No. 7 player overall nationally.

However, one of our go-to sources for recruiting isn’t sold that Smith is elite. He thinks he’s very good, just not “best in the country” great.

“Listen, Indiana high school football is terrible,” the source said. “Smith is a player any program in the country would take, but he’s not as good as his ranking. Best linebacker in the country? It must be a weak year for linebackers across the country if a kid from Indiana is the best linebacker. I’ve seen his tape. He looks good. But consider the level of competition. It would be like him playing D-V ball in Ohio.”

Our source added that OSU’s coaches “have known for a long time that Smith wasn’t coming here.” The source pointed out that Smith is the type who wants to make his own path. For instance, going to a different high school than his brother (Jaylon attends Bishop Luers, Rod went to Harding).

The level of homerism by OSU fans and even the OSU reporters is ridiculous.

The best part is saying they knew Jalen would go away from his brother because he chose a different high school too. Except, Rod's high school closed in 2010. Lmao.

He REALLY shouldn't be putting his cell phone number next to those pictures.

He also REALLY shouldn't be asking money from unknown sources using his cell phone number.

Yeah, I broke a personal rule and tweeted him telling him he should probably delete the tweet with his number. Told him to just have people DM him. Hopefully he did it.

2 things.

1st: It's a subtle but important detail of that last tweet of his. He said 2015 BCS Champs. I think it shows great character, understanding of the game and patience to put 2015 as the BSC year. 99% of recruits would put 2013 BCS Champs (his first year).

2nd: I don't think this has been brought up yet, but I love the fact that this kid works at Burger King. It shows he is humble and knows the value of hard work. I had a job all through high school and my kids will have jobs in high school. It shows great character that he can hold down a steady job at the BK Lounge, be a 5:s: recruit, and excel in school.

This kid is something special and will change the cultural landscape that ND is portrayed as on a national basis. Stay tuned my friends, we are in for a great ride.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy knowing all I can about the kids we recruit mainly their interest in Notre Dame and their acheivements in sporting events, things like that. But why in the hell would any fan want to call or text a kid in highschool or tweet for that matter. Just because technology allows us to reach out make the world smaller, doesn't mean we should. Really it's just damn creepy.

Ohio State was in his final 2, correct? That's not being humble, that's called an internship. He could have gotten some college credit for that.

When Jaylon was choosing a high school, Harding was still open so I think there is some truth that Jaylon is a kid who wants to blaze his own trail. This fact didn't stop most Buckeye fans from thinking he was an pOSU lock at this time a year ago. In hindsight it's a lot easier for Buckeye fans to say that his choice of high school was a dead give away he was going somewhere else.

2015 is going to be a good year. We'll have flying cars, hoverboards, self-lacing shoes, and the Cubs will win the World Series.
