I usually agree with c-the-d's views and mostly do with the above, BUT calling Michael a STUMBLING thumper is a bit off-base to my tastes. It's an unnecessary slur even when trying to make a point. Michael Deeb is no stumbling anything if Coach is going to play him on special teams, and I admire the guy too much to derogate his athleticism unduly.
Forgive the bluntness, but I tend to stick up for our guys unless they really sh!t the bed on something. Michael Deeb has plenty of chances to turn his tremendous work ethic into positive and athletic Notre Dame football [even if it's "just" on special teams.] Deeb lost out to Joe due to Joe's football savvy. He lost out to Nyles because of Nyles' five-star athleticism. He seems to be losing out to Greer because Greer seems to be Joe 2.0 with more speed. All that sounds like Michael has missed the field so far due to having some really good players in front of him, rather than being an athletic bust.
