Kinda feels like the family have lost faith in the competence of the coaching staff here.

I wish I could say we will be fine, but losing Vanderdoes hurts. The nose tackle is crucial in ND's defense, and Eddie was the only commit at this position since the 2010 class. Unless Kelly can somehow convince Nix to come back for his 5th year, our defense is going to have serious problems in 2014 and beyond.

I don't believe that Vanderdoes was being recruited as a NG, he was being recruited as a DE.

Both sides? Reps for a realistic frustration that ND could have which would hold up Eddie. Reps for creative suggestions too

There are two things ND hates ... 1) people who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and 2) the DUTCH. We've been waiting to screw this guy over ever since signing day, never mind his tremendous talent and our serious need at his position.

I heard he appeared to closer to 6'2 than 6'3 on our last coaches visit. Coaches weren't very happy so they had him stand back to back with Diaco for comparison . The results have not been verified yet and the Vanderdoes family had grown tired waiting for confirmation on how tall Diaco is.

I don't think this would be an issue with him having yet to take part in any type of practice. That type of thing would be sorted out in the fall.

Can't imagine why they would do that, though. If you know the kid prefers End to Tackle, even if the depth chart makes it clear that his best opportunity for early playing time is inside, you just let him come in and see for himself in camp. There's nothing to be gained by trying to tell the kid what's what before he even steps on campus.

EV was going to play inside and outside. Its not a secret that ND moves their Lineman around. Hence why they recruit a certain type of kid. A kid like Nix is just a bonus, but NDs defense will be successful with or without a Nix in it. I mean they were successful with Cwynar in there. You do your job, success will come.
