Definitely wants to visit and says he will be in his Top 5. Has been to ND before and really liked it.

We are taking 2 ILBs this year and this kid is a good one.

Also I don't know if Cooks is really his recruiter. He says he talks to Coach Elliott all the time.

Wait, what!!?? I didn't realize that we had offered this kid. This is a local kid to me, they play my son's school every year. This kid would have been a U of A lock 10-15 years ago, but recent coaching staffs have ignored this area. This kid is legit, he ran for over 200 yards against us last year and it seemed like I heard his name over the PA on every play. Glad too see a local small school kid getting national recognition. I can probably attend most of his games this year, live 45 miles away from Blue Ridge and they play us here this year. I'll keep you guys posted.

In the first highlight video, don't get too excited versus the team in red. That is Holbrook High, my son's high school. I root for the poor kids, but they went 1-10 last year. A lot of the best kids don't play here. We are defending 3A champs in basketball, though and working on a repeat! Go Roadrunners!

I don't think it's necessarily coincidence that these guys (Cox and Priest) received offers on the same day that the best player in the state of Arizona committed to us.

My man Kelly is opening pipelines all over the country. I'm loving it.

In the tape it looks like the field your son plays on is surrounded by stone walls, am I wrong?

Roadrunner Statium. It is actually pretty cool, the stadium is set on a flat part of a natural mesa. There is a TON of surrounding natural sandstone that is the backdrop of the northern, eastern and western part of the stadium. The south side is open with parking below and a stairway leading up to the playing field, which is natural grass. HHS was good in the 70's with guys like Carlos Lovato, but have tailed off over the last 30 years or so. Basketball is the game around here now. My son was the water boy, he's 5'9 122lbs freshman and slow like his old man. He will be doing video of HHS football this season, so if I find out who the new coach is here, maybe I can snag a copy of the Blue Ridge game.

GPA makes me worry about stanford since they're closer and hotter right now...hopefully we stay in it.

The state of Arizona is pretty much locked down by the Pac 12, with the occasional Big 12 (usually Texas) or BYU (Mormon kids) snag. Although the talent pool is shallow, the cream of the crop here is top-notch. If BK can start even a ramshackle pipeline with the Phoenix metro-area, that would be awesome. Phoenix is a winnable battle for ND, and would bring some very good kids our way.

*Davonte is hopefully only the beginning.

Some positive news. I can really see him at ND: really good academically and is a "very strong christian". So we definitely have some attractive things for him. As already said He loved his visit. Would really like him: 4.5 40 at 223 lbs (and he looks like he can get a good bit bigger) is great. Hopefully, we can get him here soon.

Well he must be very high if he decides to go there. I kid, but hope he does go somewhere that provides more than football opportunities.

Is this implying that the coaches were trying to make him commit or it's a community thing that they want to see him go local?

Hopefully that's a negative for ASU.

FWIW, I doubt ASU has much of a "home-town favorite" factor going for it here.

Chans lives about 4 hours northeast of Tempe. Pinetop is mountainous and very rural. Lots of pine trees, ranchers, and a completely different culture from the Phoenix metro-area.

ASU could still be the favorite school of the locals just by television coverage. If he was being pressured into a commitment and didn't make one that is a positive.

We are in his top three along with ASU and Arkansas. He's impressed with our tradition and values and we've given him the impression that he's our top guy "at the linebacker spot." (I assume that means inside linebacker? He can't be above Jaylon Smith on our board.) Per 247

Yeah. The stuff he was saying about faith and values was really encouraging. He visited for USC last year and wants to come back.

If Anzalone comes to our Spring game then we will probably land him but that's a big IF. He may be leaning OSU.

Wow. Between him, Jaylon, Anzalone, Rochell, Demarcus Robinson, Ryan Green..this class could get real serious, real fast!
