Focus on the good in a dark season.

Jarron played his best game since FSU in 2014. Absolute monster last night.

He has also had two blocked kicks this year.

Hope he continues his play and gets drafted within the first 3 rounds.

Amazing. Crazy how he's coming on now with buy in under Elston/Hudson. "Not afraid to make a mistake" was his quote before the game about playing under the new guys... disruptive force all night. At the end of the game, Miami was TRIPLE blocking him on every passing down where we rushed 3.

Beast mode, D line went quiet in the third quarter, but overall what a game

Agreed, unbelievable game for Jarron, probably the difference in the game.

He was unblockable at times. He's healthy, and hitting his potential. It wasn't a great OL he was facing, but this is the kind of production you hope for when you're facing that kind of line.

Count me not shocked that the D and DL is playing better under a new DC. Even though he's not the guy, long term.

BVG is/was a tard. Thoroughly disappointed in myself, that I actually believed he could put together anything remotely close to a competent defense. They weren't perfect but a good performance.

300yds given up. What a game for them

Jones was dominant vs Stanford also.

Injures and lack of motor have been his problem. Looks like he has put that behind him.

The last two weeks he has put together first round performances.

Lost in his play was how great Nyles Morgan played.

A lot of people have noted in the post game thread, myself included, how Morgan played a good game today excluding the 3rd and 15 play. And have all called out BVG for not playing him the past 2 years. I think his best play of the day was on 3rd and medium Morgan was supposed to blitz, felt the screen to the RB and was able mirror the RB and tip the ball.

He also put the pressure on and had part of the sack on the last play of the game.

Jarron Jones' 6.0 TFLs are the most by a player in an FBS game this season.

Jarron Jones' 6 TFL tonight are Notre Dame's most since at least 1998. When you have to go that far back to research it, it's impressive.

Someone let Jarron Jones off the leash. Today's numbers: 7 tackles, 6 TFL, 1 sack, 1 pass break up. My guess: best game of his life.

You are probably right, but devils advocate and all....why can he not be the long term guy? The D seems greatly improved in just weeks. I'm honestly looking for why. We all look for big names. Do you give him the job if the D looks great, or go for a "homerun" hire? I'm not even sure. That said, Jarron was outstanding today. You know a D lineman had an amazing game when they get an interview after!!

I'm thinking/hoping JJ will have big time games against the academies and their undersized OL. They will probably cut block and chop block the %#$& out of him, which scares me though. Don't want the big fella to get hurt. If he plows through USC's line, then we'll know that his lack of production the first half of the season had to do with BVG and his over-complex scheme. Just my opinion.

Looked like a member of the 80's Bears today. NFL scouts had to be elbowing each other.

Great job JJ. Straight. Up. Beast.

Probably more to do with finally getting back to (or at least close to) 100% than anything else IMO

If Jones could ever play with a non stop motor he'd be a 1st round draft pick all day long. Great performance yesterday.

Agreed, injuries have hurt him as well along with his focus but when he is on he's a freaking beast. Yesterday was one of the best performances I've seen a ND defensive player have since Tuitt along the Dline

Is Jarron even playing today?

I wondered the same. I'm also curious why we switched to a four man front for so much of this game. The four man front was crap against Navy last year, we actually played a lot of 3-4 last year with Tillery in the middle and it was extremely effective.

<S>Fire</S> Hire BVG!
