To be fair Riddick did have a pretty elusive run to put the cherry on top in that game against Oklahoma. It was with about 3 minutes left in the game.

Hey diddle diddle, Theo Riddick up the middle.

Look for the 0:59 mark and consider yourself redeemed, johnny:

But Cierre Wood better...

Seriously though. I like Cierre, but Theo was always just a very special individual and athlete.

And thoroughly devoted to Notre Dame.

Wish more were like him.

Kid has a huge heart. You could see it the way he took over the USC game late in his career. It's great to see him be successful at the next level.

He would get emotional over it.

Some people see tears as weakness.

Theo embodied them as strength and passion for being the best.

I am very glad he is continuing to succeed at life.

Marshal Faulk would be up there as well.

Good call. His time in STL was unbelievable.

Just found a list of top 7:

1. Larry Centers
2. Marshall Faulk
3. Ladainian Tomlinson
4. Keith Byars
5. Marcus Allen
6. Tiki Barber
7. Ronnie Harmon

Larry Centers ring a bell? He's the GOAT. 827 catches.

I believe when he retired he was the leader in receptions at the RB position

He had the single season record until Forte broke it, and still hefty lead in career receptions.

It's even more impressive that he did it back before offenses really opened up like they are now....From the fullback position

He was a helluva fullback. He and Mike Alstott are maybe the bests to play that position.

Was gonna say, the guy wasn't shifty either. He was a brick sh-thouse.

Wait Sherm you think he is the best receiving RB in the NFL?

Sproles
David Johnson
Deion Lewis
Leveon Bell

It's awesome to see Riddick doing so well in the NFL, I will never forget the way that kid played in the USC game. ND could use about 80 players that play like Riddick did

Am I the only one who thinks he was underutilized at ND?

Yes and no. I can see why you say he was underutilized. But that was because he played slot WR for two years. He played there out of necessity, because there was no one else to play the position.

Saw this after PA's bump. I think the case could now be made this year for Theo to be one of the best receiving RBs, but I'd only put Bell and Johnson in your list ahead of him (Both have a bit more receptions/yards). Theo isn't far behind though, and he has more TDs than both. Johnson has a lot more yards than both, but he gets a lot more looks/volume with a lower percentage of receptions.
