'08 MN WR Michael Floyd (Signed LOI to ND)

There have been some rumblings the Pats may look to pick him up after the release. We’ll see. He was solid in his short tenure with them in 2016. He didn’t know the offense well enough to play in playoffs, but he was great in week 17. Would be a pretty ideal landing spot for him obviously.

If he doesn't get picked up, I'd sign him for the min and handcuff him to a conditioning coach for a few weeks.

Yeah, how does a guy in his position show up for camp out of shape? I don’t get that, unless he doesn’t really want to play anymore.
If he does want to play, the Pats need a receiver and know Floyd. Both parties could do a lot worse.

Well the Pats do need receiver help, but Floyd is definitely not at the top of the list. They added Corey Coleman and Bennie Fowler yesterday.

Our guy could very well have addiction/alcoholism problems. If so, that would explain a lot of out-of-shape bad decision making.

Hope it's not true, but some people have to completely crash and burn before manning up and getting their life together. He's still got time.

Bud Light has 1g of protein per 12oz serving. He's just not drinking enough for his body to get enough protein to be in football shape.

My cousin was good friends with him at ND. When he broke his collarbone freshman year he went out to dinner that night with her, my grandfather, and other family. He at least had his head on a bit straight because gramps tried to pay for his meal and he declined it due to NCAA rules. In any case, she said he was constantly out partying or at the bars I guess, and was always driving home afterwards. Obviously he got caught eventually at ND and was busted, that should have been the wake up call he needed. She tried to convince him for a long time to clean up, but it never happened and they drifted away. I would definitely say he's an alcoholic and needs some help, I just don't know if he's ready to accept it.

To live a clean manageable life. To play in the NFL again....doubtful.

If the guy is going to live clean, he will have to focus on his sobriety first. Everything else comes second.

Boykin deserves it. My cousin tried to warn Floyd he was going down a bad path even Sophomore year, but he wasn't having any of it. Dude had a lot of 2nd chances.

Michael Floyd is the biggest high profile waste of talent in my time as a Notre Dame fan. The dude tore it up in college. Couldn't keep his head on straight then, and continued to not do so as a professional.

What a sad deal. Outside of Mr. Smith with the Cowboys, he's my favorite Notre Dame player I've had the chance to watch too which makes it all the more irritating to see what he did in the League.
