I never could understand how people keep thinking Cutler can be "The Man". There's a reason Denver got rid of him. He only has one thing going for him and that's arm strength. From all the reports I heard, he refuses to check out of plays, doesn't go through his progressions as much as he should and thinks his arm will make the difference. Doesn't listen to the coaches, etc. I don't think he cares and has a real passion to play, but where else can he get paid like he does?

It appears that Stafford is getting better under Caldwell. If I needed a QB and had to pick between the two, I would take him over Cutler any day.

Jimmy's job is to come in and make losing not look as bad as Jay did. Or maybe his job is to actually look worse so people lighten up on Jay. Who knows.

The Bears are an absolute mess. Jay isn't the only problem.

The Lions only sacked Cutler 3 times last game and he threw the ball 48 times. Offensive line is pretty ok for the Bears actually. Jimmy should be protected.

The Saints and their 7 sacks last week say "Hi".

Clausen lacks elite arm strength to ever be a consistent start in the NFL. The zip of his ball isnt enough to fit into windows that a starter needs to have. I think he is a player that can definitely come in during spot time and have success, but he just simply isnt an NFL qb.

Clausen will look like a chicken with his head cut off on Sunday. He lacks pocket presence and wont take shots down the field. He is the king of checkdowns and that wont get the job done....see Carolina 2010.

He understands the game well, but just doesnt have the talent or athleticism to be anything more than a potential backup or filler on the roster. Great at mentoring and seems like a good teammate, but just not the player he was hyped to be.

I always thought he had an adequate NFL arm, but you're right it's certainly not elite. But then neither are either of the Manning's. But I agree he'll probably never be more than a backup, but hell NFL backups make more money than I likely ever will. I'll be rooting for him.

Cutler is Jeff George 2.0

Yeah I watched the game. Mostly coverage sacks it wasn't like jail break Bears O-line of the past. No way anyone can blame the O-line for the Bears struggles this season.

Carolina in '10 was a mess. They had a ton of players on IR and Clausen probably shouldn't have even been playing.

If he struggles it will be because he hasn't played in 5 years.

Clausen is probably my favorite ND player in the last 10 years. Loved the emotion.

But, when he was in Carolina and in Preseason...theres isnt anything on his ball in terms of velocity. You know how Manziel had some floaters last week against Cincy? His and Clausens arms are very similar in terms of strength and accuracy. Manziel has the ability to get loose and Clausen doesnt.

Clausen still throws on a good deep ball, but the NFL is based off tight windows where the WR isnt even open. Clausen hasnt proved he can hit those consistently in 4 years.

He was also one of the biggest aholes ever to set foot on that campus. The time he tried to fight Golden Tate at a dorm party... the time he threw a football through a window at a house party... the time he wore a crown to Domerfest... the time he got punched at a bar for general asshattery... the time this happened...

Believe me when I say that Jimmy was an all-time douche, football player or otherwise. You didn't go to school with him for 3 years.

Can you guys come up with a good douche bag story? No offense but I've heard like 5 stories and none of them seem that bad. I mean there has to be plenty of people that want to fight Golden Tate. :eek:grin:

You don't get known as a douche because of one story. It's just how you carry yourself and act. Here's one for you though....

My ex-girlfriend found a phone on campus. Turns out it was Jimmy's phone. He asks her (through his friends phone) to bring it to him in his dorm room (rather than go to her) and then takes the phone, says "Thanks" and shuts the door in her face. I feel like any other person would be a lot more grateful than that and wouldn't make someone bring the phone to them.

Sounds like a good story to throw you off track.
