I am guessing an alum provided the home for him to use OR he is renting it.

For those in real estate, could he even get financing on this thing? That stuff is pretty foreign to me.
Financing wise, there is an asset depletion loan. So basically take the assets, divide by 72. If that number exceeds the payment by 55%, good to go.

That's helpful.

Wasn't sure how this would work with his unpredictable (to put it mildly) income stream.
Yeah he's likely not going through banks that you or I would. They can take the risk because they're fans and like the access, plus *it's only $5M*. I say only because it likely represents a trivial part of the portfolio.

I would imagine that he's probably at like a 9% to 11% interest rate since they are taking some risk but he is a reputable and public person. I've seen hockey players up here do similar transactions. I would imagine his agency has a FP that sniffed through the deal to make sure it isn't going to completely destroy his financial future.

Do we think he would seriously consider it?

He’s won the Heisman, a natty, and is likely the first pick in the draft. If the Raiders intend to draft him, he probably has Brady in his ear selling the long-term vision in Vegas and $50M million waiting for him.

I don’t get the sense this kid is driven by money the way many players in his position are, but that’s still a hard opportunity to turn down. What makes the decision even tougher is there is really nowhere to go but down and next year’s quarterback class could be loaded - Carr, Sayin, Moore, Manning, Maiava, Leavitt, Mensah, Sellers, Lagway. Several of those guys have better physical tools, and the NFL consistently prioritizes traits and upside over intangibles.

Yeah he should go now. No idea how it will work out for him at the next level but his draft stock can only go down where it is now. Next year its entirely plausible/likely his team will not be as good and his flaws will be amplified.

Go get the bag now.

Are we forgetting IU already coughed up millions and signed his replacement?

Well, no changes to this year's CFP format - Same 12-team field and format/rules, so it's even more important that ND go 12-0 and Leave.No.Doubt.

One interesting thing is that the CFP CG is set for 1/25/2026 which appears at first glance to be a week later than the past few years, but maybe it's just a calendar thing.

We have the MOU that is active. Top 12 and we're in.

So, they're running the G5 experiment back again? I love the hatred towards ND over the MOU. Make the 2026 season personal.

It's not just Reddit, it's all over social media and ESPN. Stephan A Smith was complaining about ND getting in at 12 in a 12 team playoff, and Cam Newton was there too.

This is why I dropped ESPN. Less Smiths and Newtons, more Hoges (Who ESPN laid off because he apparently doesn't generate dumbass takes).

The narrative will be the schedule and margin of victory. Belt to ass weekly plus other scenarios working in our favor. We were 0 for 50 on scenarios breaking our way last year.

Stephen A is an expert at nothing, but thinks he’s an expert in everything. If you asked him what he thinks about marine biology, he would scream and yell about the giant tortoises in the Galápagos Islands not getting enough algae incoherently for 10 minutes. He’s a babbling motormouth dickhead.

People are morons. Some of them even get paid to talk on TV.

Yup. I'm logging out for the weekend, so many idiots have been triggered online. They think we whined to the NCAA to get the playoff format changed because of what happened in the playoff this year. The changes were agreed upon forever ago! So many idiots...:ROFLMAO:

That’s actually his genius. He could yell for 10 straight minutes on any subject you gave him. It’s impressive in a nauseating way.

Fuck, I keep trying to turn off social media, but people are really, really butthurt about this whole 12th spot gets in thing. It's both entertaining how scared people are of us again, but also depressing how gullbile these people are who think this change was just made today, as if we had something to do with it.
