Bobby Petrino is out at Arkansas according to Joe Schad

I have to admit I am impressed with this decision. IMO it was the right thing to do. Was it Long's decision? If so, I can respect that.
@HImagazine Arkansas wanted to keep Bobby Petrino with penalties. He would not accept those penalties. Thus he was fired.

Gus Malzahm the next Arkansas coach. Whatever happened to that poster lol.Unlikely, they are likely to go after Garrick McGee, who recently left for a smaller school.
Karma is a beotch. Sadly someone will hire him.
I wonder if they go with Paul Petrino for the rest of the year and then try to get Gus on board. If they feel he is ready. The thing is, it's still a good football school in the SEC, and the only wrong doing (hopefully) was by the coach. I'm sure the position is still marketable.
Having said that, Bobby is, and always has been, a scumbag who screws programs, administrations, and teams over. He's had this coming for awhile. Whether it was negotiating with Auburn secretly while still at Louisville, or leaving the Falcons DURING THE SEASON without facing the team, he's the worst. I always thought his scumbagness allowed him to fit in perfectly in the SEC. Can't believe he was stupid enough to lie about it.
I know Paul Petrino well from following Illinois football. He left with the same kind of crybaby issues that seem to mark both Petrino brothers as selfish people. Good riddance. I know someone will give Bobby a job, but I hope its nothing high profile. He doesn't deserve it.
I would imagine they would not give the job to anyone with the name "Petrino." That would be a bad PR move
Coach Bobby Petrino gave $20,000 to Jessica Dorrell, the 25-year-old UA employee who was a passenger in his April 1 motorcycle wreck, AD Jeff Long said. The money was given before the accident. Petrino also interviewed just two of the other 158 applicants for her football department job, Long said.

Bobby Petrino had the support of the Arkansas faithful, a 21-5 record the past two seasons, and another potential BCS team coming together in 2012. It still hasn't been enough to save his job in the fallout from his recent motorcycle accident.
Petrino and Razorback athletic director Jeff Long met throughout Tuesday afternoon and Long made the announcement official at a Tuesday night press conference: after four years and a 34-17 record, Petrino has been fired.
An emotional Long said that Petrino had "knowingly misled" the Razorback athletics department and the Arkansas public, having concealed both the details of the accident and -- more importantly -- his relationship with Jessica Dorrell, the recently hired 25-year-old Arkansas football administrative staffer.
"I have informed coach Petrino his employment at Arkansas is terminated immediately," Long said, saying Petrino had "abused his authority" in hiring Dorrell without disclosing their relationship. Petrino was terminated "with cause," denying him the buyout included in his contract.
"I have no one to blame but myself," Petrino said in a statement issued late Tuesday evening. "I chose to engage in an improper relationship. I also made several poor decisions following the end of that relationship and in the aftermath of the accident. I accept full responsibility for what has happened."

Long said that Dorrell's relationship with Petrino had given her an unfair advantage in being hired over the other 158 applicants for her current position. Long also revealed that Petrino had given Dorrell a $20,000 cash gift, though he declined to say why Petrino had done so.

He may be too toxic to hire as a head coach again (the past shadiness coupled with his recent shadiness). I'd expect him to sit out a year or two, then maybe get hired as an OC by an NFL team, or go back to Montana and take a D-II job there or something.
