Will Biggers thinks we do in fact lead but his parents want him to check out all his options before commiting because according to his dad decommiting is not a option. Green is completely open to leaving FL.

“@BGI_JasonSapp: With emotions settled ... update on where #NotreDame stands for RB Ryan Green after visit *(VIP) Ryan Green Update via @BGI_WillBiggers”

He states that ND has definitely placed themselves in contention.

The school is great, and both Green and his father love the school.

They want to thoroughly examine all schools before Ryan makes a decision: once a commitment has been placed, the recruitment process will be over with in it's entirety.

Biggers cannot see how we wouldn't be the favorite right now after all the smoke surrounding the recent visit.

He's certain we lead.

Good to hear. Sounds like they are going through this the RIGHT way.

I like to hear that decommiting is not an option. Would help my stress level this time around. I also love hearing that we are a legit contender.

Is he gonna be returning to ND?

I am with you 100% on this. However, be careful some posters on here will criticize you for believing that your word means something. ;)

Reilly Gibbons is coming back in July so maybe the staff could convince him to come to but as of right now there are no visits planned.

Stupid question: Was the junior day visit considered an official visit? If not, I would imagine he would return on ND's dime at the very least.

I could have sworn someone already reported Green was camping here in the summer, no?

If he were to camp during the summer, he would undoubtedly take an official visit in the fall...putting the total amount of ND trips to what...4??? Given the distance, nobody could deny that we'd be the Vegas favorite to land him...

So I was thinking how the conversation of his dad telling him that "once you commit its final" would have come up. The only thing I can think of is Ryan was telling his Dad that he was ready to commit to ND, and pops wanted him to give himself the due diligence because there is no looking back. Still think this is VERY good news for ND.

or when he began his recruitment process his dad said to him, people now a days are making a mockery of recruiting, if you are lucky enough to get college offers once you verbally committ to a school that is the school you are attending.......or the extremely biased Notre Dame centric view of it works too :) I prefer that one actually.

He is one of the three additional guys from Junior day that most felt we were close to a committment from? He is good for me. I will admitt I have been following the TI thread more closely, but other than height, I don't see where this kid leaves much on the table.

I like seeing a recruitment handled by this. It kind of reminds me of the way the Neals went about it, with Davonte's dad leading him around and ensuring he makes the right, measured, and thought out decision. Usually when you follow this path, the benefits of ND start to stand out. Seems like there is much more interest from the Greens however than other schools, which is great.

Per 247 Ryan will not decide immediately. It will be a thought out process, however once Ryan commits his dad says that is it. No more visits or looking at others schools. Very high on ND and is definitely willing to leave the state of Florida. Also said there is no clear #1, while at the same time emphasized he loved ND. Top 5 of ND, Florida, Florida State and "two others."

Interestingly his dad talked about not wanting to set a timetable or rush the decision because Ryan will have to live with it the rest of his life. Then is quoted as saying, "Because at the end of the day, it’s not a four-year decision it’s a 40-year decision.”

To which the 247's Will Biggers writes, "Which is a phrase so often used by Notre Dame commitments shortly after giving their pledge, and enough cause for the Irish faithful to crack a wry smile."

Very impressed with this family. Really hope he pops for ND whenever it comes!

Vader Green (father)
I, as a parent, feel absolutely comfortable with Notre Dame and have no problem at all with leaving Ryan there. I'd have no problem leaving my son with coach Alford. I think he's an outstanding coach. I also think coach Kelly is an outstanding coach and a family-man. I'd be absolutely fine with leaving Ryan with those two.

His father sounds awesome....force is strong with this one.

I can wait for two weeks.

I think I phrased that wrong.

It said he won't be making a quick decision like within the next week or two. No timeframe just wants to evaluate every option and cover every base before he decides because his dad said this is a decision you will live with for the rest of your life.

But I think he will definitely decide before next school year. Sounds like they are making all their visits in the summer.
