Yeah, the academics part reaaaaaallly must be on his mind. I agree with GB here, can't see him leaving the south. Maybe something changes if we get him here for a visit, but who knows.

Agreed it's one of the strongest recruiting tools we have. Almost swayed Poole. Now that would have been amazing.

ND came to see him today at his school. Sapp's source didn't say who visited but Cooks and Alford are in FL, so it must have been one or both of them.

Sapp: "I've said it plenty of times -- but I love this kid's tape." He never says stuff like that, so I actually watched the tape, and it is IMPRESSIVE. Don't know his current interest level though.

He understands the great tradition at Notre Dame and that’s impressed him. MacKensie is a very unique young man who has a lot of self-confidence. I think that’s what you have to have as a defensive back.
“He’s said, ‘Look Coach, I’ve looked at all of these All-Americans they’ve had. They’ve had all of these guys who were running backs, offensive linemen, receivers and tight ends and linebackers.’ He said, ‘I think I can go in and be one of the better guys in the history of Notre Dame football at corner.’ He wants to make that kind of name for himself.”

It's obviously too early, but this kid sounds like a very smart individual and has academics as one of his priorities. Great post Me2, sounds like it's up to the coaches right now, let's hope they earn their pay check with this kid, we need him!
