Glad he'll be meeting the lowest common denominator of Irish fans.

What are you reading? Who ever said UAZ WAS the favorite? I was discussing his proximity to UAZ. Many recruits today don't take officials to Homestate U as they can see it on their dime and use the official visits to the distant trips. You're reaching to things that aren't in the post.

And his "ambivalence" as you call it, had to do with an awards dinner that wasn't in his schedule and a family tragedy. That's called a scheduling conflict not ambivalence.

I never said YOU said AZ was the favorite, but plenty of people are saying that, and in any event I think you're underplaying how he's handled the decision whether to visit AZ. I fully understand many recruits save the unofficials for the farther away schools. What's your point? Davonte still doesn't know whether he wants to take ANY visit to AZ -- official or unofficial. That the school is merely an hour and a half away and he hasn't made an official or unofficial visit (at least since starting the recruiting process) and still doesn't know if he cares enough to make ANY visit there says something about his interest level, in my opinion. As does the fact that an awards dinner may prevent him from visiting at all, as if that night were the only night he could have visited over the past several months a school only an hour and a half away.

A person does not have to request to join the group. I got a message from DaVonte about "liking" a facebook page of one his teammates.... I then asked him if I "like" it will he join the bang bang group..... he said ok!

Request may not be the right word (more like accepted) but When U find the group it literally says "request to join group?".....

You have to be added/approved to the group by a mod unless that's changed.

I think L-cart meant that no one forced Davonte to request admission to the group. In other words, that his joining has significance.

So you're Justin Glick?

His joining the BBDNG group probably means less if you told him to do it. Also, do you really think exposing him to that rabble is going to help our chances?

Seriously, the conversation that goes on on that page is the most embarrassing thing for our fanbase that I can imagine. Great idea by Tee, but those types of things are always dominated by the lowest common denominator. Its like an ESPN comment section.

Thanks for the reality check, Tom.

I believe it is down to Arizona, Arkansas and ND(alpha order). He loved his visit to ND. The ND staff reached out to him when his cousin was hit by the car. None of the other coaching staff did. The other two NC are snakes in the grass. Their history of loyalty is suspect at best. Petrino left the Falcons in the dark of night. Rich Rod crapped on his alma mater.
I like our chances.

Did everyone miss the part that said Luke preferred ND and UNC?

It boggles my mind how many times we link stories and quotes from Luke Neal only to have people completely ignore it and try to figure out the recruiting of Neal Jr.

So you're saying Ohio State isn't the favorite?!

lol you guys are hilarious. Part of the problem is that ESPN is taking so long to get the memo that OSU has been eliminated; didn't someone say they heard on ESPN radio THIS WEEK that OSU was the favorite? Inexcusable.

Seriously though, I do wonder how much we can trust Luke Neal. He may like UNC and ND, but we have to rely on his word as to Davonte's interest level, and as we saw with the Pooles, parents can be unreliable. As people have said Ariz. seems to be an also-ran if they aren't making the visit a high priority, but I worry about Ark. as a sleeper.
