Just a bummer knowing that Armond's clearance into the program being denied is the only reason ND didn't get them both. Sad but that's life. It's going to get scary up in Eugene if they start to get the defensive players on top of that offense. Best of luck to him unless ND plays them.

Unless I completely missed it (and I just rechecked) no one said anything about an ISD update/or message board comment at any point today until that moment. My point was that even if true, why would the poster choose to divulge this information at that moment rather than "a few hours ago". I was commenting on the extremely poor timing, right in the middle of a mini-crisis. It was better for him to just not say anything at all rather than come in here with link-less info considering we were all on pins and needles

And I only made my comment after he affirmed that he had no link. Didn't jump at him until then

A couple posters wondered if we still had a chance, and some were praying. So immediately after one poster said he would sh!t if Arik chose the Irish, Magogian posted what ISD was reporting. Now, could he have posted that it was on a message board and therefore he couldn't post a link? Sure. But he did that later. Anyway, the info was most definitely pertinent, and true as well. Can't see a better time, personally; I mean, it was right after a guy was hoping it would be ND. Guess we'll have to disgaree on that one.

I highly, highly disagree that we were going through a mini-crisis. Everyone and their mother who followed this recruitment even from afar knew that Arik wasn't picking ND. Some people were praying, sure, but even they knew he wasn't picking ND. Like most, I was on this thread just to see who he picked in the end. But there was no mini-crisis...not even close.

I respect your opinion. I just feel like when there are posts being made about the sheer amount of people viewing the thread, it's pretty obvious that people were anxious to see what Arik decided, and some were still holding out hope. Crisis may not be a great word to describe the situation, but people were definitely on pins and needles. I apologize to Magogian for snapping at him but I still think it was poor timing.

Bobby Burton this morning mentioned that he believes that Arik is a top 10 player in the class so long as he plays OT, but that if he ends up at DE, he is outside the top 100.

I will be curious to see what position this kid is playing in 3 years.

I'm no football coach but he always looked like an OT to me. I saw quick feet and unchallenged strength but not the straight-ahead burst that you look for from a defensive player. I know that's less important in a 3-4 like ours, where even the DEs are mainly supposed to tie up blockers, but I'm just saying that the way he moves, he looks like an O lineman, not a D lineman to me. It probably sounds like sour grapes now but if Armstead was going to insist on playing D I might have rather had Kallon; absolutely loved his film.

Yup and not sour grapes at all either. Arik is probably the top player in the country as an O lineman, but on D line he just doesn't have the athleticism to play D end and he gets put off balance at D tackle. He may have the upside for Defense, but offensive line is definitely his calling.

New Info on Arik Armstead: He was 100% #Cal until Tosh Lupoi left, but then picked #Oregon after Lupoi to #UW. (h/t @sb_joedavidson)

The prayer pics didn't work.

It's because we stopped posting them. We did start posting them for Poole though. Where did that thread go? We have only two days until NSD, boys...FIRE UP THE PRAYER PICS! lol

HAHA! Sucks for them. Too bad this doesn't help us out much.

Unless he's given a chance to transfer elsewhere without having to sit out a year. I mean, ND was 2nd on his list after OU...and Cal...and AU...and USC...
