A poster on 247 claims that Everett...
-weighs around 190 and hopes to be around 200 by the fall.
-has a noticeably different build. especially his upper body.
-and has grown vertically

I am very excited to see what he can do next year. This team needs him badly.

Golson with possibly an even bigger cannon? Me gusta.

Curious to see if any of this is true though. I hope it is.

sounds like Longo has worked his magic, sounding more and more like he will be the frontrunner come spring

"Has grown vertically?" Does Longo have some sort of rack?

Bruce Feldman's #1 Most Intriguing Redshirt Freshman

Community - CBSSports.com

9, Jalen Collins, LSU CB: The Tigers have taken to call LSU "DBU" and the defensive backs I spoke to down in New Orleans around the BCS title game touted Collins as the next great one in the pipeline. He's a rangy 6-1, 195-pounder (up about 20 pounds since high school), who was a prep track star and really not that highly touted in the recruiting process. Teammates call him the most athletic guy on the team, which is obviously a mouthful. Don't expect him to overtake Tharold Simon in the race to replace Mo Claiborne, but Collins will be a big factor in a loaded DB rotation.

Yikes.

5, Kelvin Benjamin, FSU, WR: E.J. Manuel should have some very good options to throw to in 2012. The only target FSU loses is Bert Reed, but they gain the super-sized Benjamin in his place. Coaches say Benjamin is up to 245 pounds on his 6-5 frame and he still has the athleticism to get away from DBs and go up and make acrobatic catches in traffic.

Future TE?

he would need a growth spurt to achieve his listed 6'

Perhaps, but Doug Flutie was listed at 5-10 and won the Heisman, Maxwell, and Davey O'Brien Awards and threw for over 10,500 yds.

Some contemporary QBs LISTED at 6-0 include:
Kellen Moore Boise
Denard Robinson UM
Zach Collaros UC

Russell Wilson is only LISTED at 5-11. How that work out for him?

I'd prefer a taller QB but sometimes good things do come in small packages.

I hear what your saying, and Im a huge Golson fan, but I feel like on top his short size hes thin and small. If he puts on 10-15ish pounds by fall I would be pretty happy, on top of what hes done this season.

I don't care if he's 5'11", 6'11", or 4'11". If he can cut down on all those redzone mistakes Tommy made, and extend drives using his feet, I'm all aboard.

5'10-6'0 truly do not matter in college spreads...

No need to sweat that guys.

I thought I read he was up to 195. Are you expecting to see him at 205-210 in '12?

He's allegedly put on some solid pounds in the weight room. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised when spring ball rolls around.

Hell, you're on campus, and you know some players. You could probably find out how much he weighs now without too much creepiness/ effort.

True, I walked by him the other day and I was a little disappointed, were about the same size, but honestly I can't form a legitamate opinion from a simple walk by.

Just from looking at him up close I would be extremely surprised if he is 185 and above 5'10. Not to say these things will hinder him being a great qb but, never the less something to keep in mind.

Completely agree with this. No way he's 195, I would say 180 max. Again tho I still think he can be a great qb in this offense particularly.

Would it be considered weird if you walked up to him and picked him up so you could estimate his weight? I mean it's not like friending a recruit on facebook, or something foolish like that. After all, he is already in the student directory.

Guys,
You are all getting worked up about his height. Go look at the UM website and they have Dennard listed at 6' tall. That means he is likely 5'11" or less. That pretty much puts him right on par with Golson. So, should we be that concerned when he is similar in size to a guy who has beat us the last two years and pretty much carried the UM offense.

In my opinion after watching Golson's highlights, he looks like a much better passer than Dennard. So, I am fine with a 6ft or less QB with skills.

I also remember hearing Harrison Smith talk about how this kid was killing them in practice. There was a lot of talk about his arm and legs.

Relax about the height issue. It is what it is!! I will take his mobility and arm over Turnover Tommy all day.

It is hard to say what an athlete weighs as they have lean muscle mass. They can easily look lighter than what they are. I always appeared to weigh less than what I really was. How you look in pads doesn't complete passes or win games. He just needs to have enough muscle mass to make it through a 12-13 game season. I am happy to hear he is working on hard in the weight room, as it shows he is driven and knows where success on the field starts.
