Haven't we had this conversation before about recruits wearing jerseys and having their pictures taken in them? Were the rules ever clarified regarding this situation?

Also,

I do not want to be the only guy. I would love to play with another back because I do not want to take a beating. Especially in the SEC, if you want to have a long pro career, you want to split the carries with someone else. I saw Isaiah Crowell from last year and he is very good. I would like to play with a guy like that.

I'm not holding my breath. This kid is all UGA, IMO.

UGA RB target Todd Gurley (No. 1) tweeted this picture of him and Keith Marshall (No. 4) during their official visit to UGA on Sunday. Marshall is the No. 1-ranked RB prospect in the country. Both Gurley and Marshall are from North Carolina and have expressed interest in playing on the same college team.

Arkansas Examining Potential Violation | Arkansas News

NCAA bylaw 13.6.7.9 specifically stipulates schools “may not permit a prospective student-athlete to engage in any game-day simulations … during an official visit.” In addition, the bylaw says “personalized recruiting aids include any decorative items and special additions to any location the prospective student-athlete will visit (e.g. hotel room, locker room, coach’s office, conference room, arena) regardless of whether the items include the prospective student-athlete’s name or picture.”

so then a jersey would be a violation, as this is decorative and personalized??

Can't imagine it's a big deal to try on the universitys jersey when you're visiting. In Ishaqs City Grid Iron video you can see him wearing the ND jersey in the locker room during his visit.

In the stands, during the game..? Might be a different story. Let the resident lawyer look into it for 450 vbucks p/hr.. Whiskey?

I think if Richt is out at the end of the year, Florida is sitting pretty for both. Just my opinion.

Oh I agree with you IM3. That's why I said "decent shot". Can never count out ND when a visit is planned, though.

See the quote above. As long as the jersey doesn't have Marshall's name on the back, and they didn't march him out onto the field to take a few snaps from behind the OL, then it's kosher.

Thanks for clarifying. I knew this topic had been brought up before, but I couldn't remember the verdict.

my SEC sources say he's a UGA lock. like you guys said he's playing it smart, but I honestly will be floored if he goes anywhere but Athens.

I am not saying he will pick ND but you have to remember he has only seen UGA and i think South Carolina so far. Its easy to have a favorite when all you really know is 2-3 schools. Let him take his visits first

I agree. We are in his top 3 and he has not even been on campus yet. Georgia is clearly the leader at the moment, but lets see how he likes his ND visit before we write this one off as a lock.

I think it would be stupid to fire Richt. Someone at UGA has to be smart enough to see that. And that being said, Richt stays, and they land Marshall.

If i WAS a UG fan, I would want to keep Richt- solid coach. And if they would fire him- who in the hell would you get?

Chris Petersen would get a call.

That's what I was thinking. Especially after Boise goes undefeated AGAIN this year. That would put him at a respectable 77-5 in his first 6 years. Plus with Kellen Moore leaving, it might be a good time for Petersen to move on. I wouldn't mind taking over all the talent that Richt brought in last year and this year too

And UGA would get hung up on. Peterson looks like a lifer to me

During the Pitt game a commentator metioned Graham leaving Tulsa, one of those places you could stay at for a career. He then noted that Peterson has one of those jobs and won't be leaving it.

There's no way Petersen will leave. Boise gets to $hit on crappy teams, they have to get up for maybe one or two games, go undefeated and get into a BCS bowl (which, to their credit, they win). As far as Richt, I really like him. He seems like a stand-up guy. However, Georgia is LOADED with talent, yet seems to never get to the next level.

Not to mention Petersen would get eaten alive in the SEC. He's way too nice a guy, and I would never wish that circus upon anyone.

But then you have to credit Richt for getting all of the recruits they get. Last year was also the first time one of his Bulldog teams won less than 8 games.

The running joke in the SEC is that UGA has the most "pre-season national titles" of any team the last decade. Unfortunately for Richt, it's win or GTFO at this point. Recruiting rankings are pointless if you don't make the SEC CG.

Unfortunately, I can see Peterson taking the USC job when Haden gets rid of the Kitten. Then the rivalry will back on big time.
