Kids attend more camps, their ratings go up.

It's not like he was devalued. There were just other guys that went to Gridiron Kings, The Opening, and several other camps that performed well and moved up.

Still a lot of movement to come after this high school season. Never get worked up about ratings too early, or really, ever.

I thought he was at the Opening and in fact did quite well.

He was at The Opening, but if I recall right, he didn't make much noise aside from two big receptions in the championship game.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, he ONLY had two touchdowns in the championship game...

EDIT: Yup, I remembered correctly. Not only did he have the only two passing touchdowns, but the only touchdowns for Team Alpha Talon in the championship game.

The Opening is a Nike event, and few if any Scout people were there. Scout was all over Gridiron Kings and Justin wasn't there. Since The Opening was the only event he did, he likely went unnoticed by them.

He also had a case of the dropsies at The Opening. I agree that his physical nature and stature give him some really strong upside. And the glimpses I've seen of him on TV or on film just seem far better than ~#100 WR.

There are clearly two camps of people here... ESPN/our staff/other schools who like him a lot; and the other services who rank him as a mid-to-low 3:s:

I was simply postulating as to why 247, Scout, and Rivals might not be high on him. Compared to Greenberry, Shepard, and Perkins, Ferguson did not make much noise at The Opening.

He has great offers, that is better than any recruiting service.

Oh sorry, I wasn't criticizing your post at all, I was just adding to your two catches bit.

Amen. We always have to keep in mind how many All-Americans came out of nowhere as 3 stars or less. It's impossible to really know what's going to happen.

Same in the NFL, as a matter of fact... there are a decent amount of non-drafted players who end up starting, much less 4th round or below.

Let's just trust the staff here. They know more than we do, and that's final.

“@Jake_Brown: Just talked to #NotreDame commit Justin Ferguson (@FergYola). He's playing slot receiver this year. Goals: 1,500 all-purpose yards/20 TDs.”

Is a meaningful pattern emerging? Few receptions, but they all go for TDs?

Not big news, but Justin tweeted that he was on the phone with Coach Alford today. Must have went well to inform his followers.
