I might be reading a little too much into this but there were some photos on ND Football's facebook page from Sunday night. In this picture it appears to be the 1st team offense and the 1st team defense, correct me if I'm wrong, and that appears to be Rees lining up with them. You can't see his number, but in the other pics Dayne is wearing a knee brace and this player obviously is not. Kelly said that he was going to decide over the weekend so I wonder if this carries any weight.

It was simply a snapshot in time.

As for the brace any coach that doesn't have a guy coming off surgery wear one should clean out his office. It's S.O.P. None of us know just how mobile Dayne is today compared to pre-injury. The presence of a brace doesn't indicate anything other than the medical staff is being prudent.

If Rees gets the nod, so be it. I think it hurts our offense right out of the gate, but Brian Kelly is far more qualified to make this decision than I am. To me it means that Crist did not come in and keep the job. That is not a good sign. We will see how this pans out. Still think that it's Crist taking the first snap against South Florida.

The weird thing is that the QB in that picture is not Crist OR Rees. instead I am rather positive it is Mulvey because if you look at the next pic you can see some hair coming out of the back of the helmet and as we all know crist and rees have buzzes. Also the QB in the picture is wearing half sleeves on his upper arms and if you go to the last picture in the album you will see that crist, rees, and hendrix all are not wearing any sleeves...

I know this is petty but, the #1 should be worn by the best player, or at least a contributor. I had high hopes when he committed.

I wouldnt be nervous about this. Maybe Kelly thinks that the players seem to be tired or just need a break from practicing everyday. We just dont know. At least we still get to know who the QB will be.

I am watching a replay of the LSU WVU game from last year now that the LLWS game with my hometown team is over (10 run ruled em!) and refreshing my twitter every 3 seconds out of absolute boredom while trolling the EA NCAA 12 forums.



I'm sure things are 100% fine. Maybe the QB competition really is incredibly tight and they need to debate to choose someone to get ready for USF.

I just want the best guy to win the job...I think it's Dayne...the mobility adds a dimension that Rees doesn't have, otherwise they (according to Kelly) are neck and neck.

That's the only explanation I can think of...

...that or someone died.
We'd have heard if that was the case though.

I can't imagine Kelly canceling for that...but maybe? Did Shoults live in SB?
If so perhaps he's having the entire team go to a viewing or something.
