I don't understand how Ferguson got a shout out but Deontay and Tee - who were on the all-tournament team - got no love. Makes me think Luginbill only watched the games on TV... and makes you really question the guys at the head of Scout's Inc. over there.

Agree with the other poster bout Luginbill being a clown, but gotta remember that Ferguson caught the game winner...think Barry Bonds(exclude the roids for arguments sake) he strikes out his first 3 at-bats then hits the game winning walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th...nobody cares who was on 1st to tie the game, but what a clutch performer Bonds is when it counts....

I don't mind these kids staying relatively under the radar. The hotter they get nationally the more work the coaching staff will have to put in to keep them..

Sounds like he's planning on enrolling early. How many are we up to as far as wanting to enroll early? How does that affect our numbers (because EE count towards the previous year, correct?)

Correct. We signed 24 players in the 2011 class, but 5 enrolled early, which counts them against 2010. That means the 2011 class has 19 players currently; 25 is the max for any given year, so we can take up to 6 early enrollees in this cycle.

Always good to have a lot of commits at the USC game as well as uncommitted guys.

Right. Thanks.

So from what I've read, there's at least two kids wanting to EE (Tee and Ferguson). Am I missing any others?

AFAIK, Greenberry wants to enroll early as well, and Darby is considering it.

It would be great to have our best recruits at the biggest positions of need come in early.

These numbers are counting Prestwood correct?

Ferguson Makes Plays, Friends

But the most important part of the trip was probably the bond he formed with his future teammates, Tee Shepard, Deontay Greenberry and David Perkins.

“It was crazy,” said Ferguson, who met Shepard at Notre Dame’s spring game, but didn’t meet the others until arriving in Oregon. “It was like we’re already brothers. We’re going to keep in contact.

“I think it was real important because we’ve already built that bond before we even get there. It was fun. We were with each other most of the time, me, Tee, David and Deontay.”

Before having to leave each other after saying bye 30 times, according to Ferguson and Perkins, the new friends made plans to reconvene in South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against USC in October.

That weekend in South Bend is going to be out of this world!

I hope Mark Harrell isn't being excluded by these guys. I get the differences between them (athletes vs. a lineman, other "things"), but a teammate is a teammate. One guy should not be excluded by four of his teammates.

I would think it would just be the lineman aspect. At The Opening the skill guys are coached apart from the lineman, right?

You're reading an awfully lot into a brief writeup from a guy that sells subscription info. After after 7 months writing about the same recruits he has to find some different angle to keep feeding "new" info.

Nah. Seriously, though. I'd like to see all these guys stick together. No good reason why we would have 5 recruits there and 4 should be inseparable and one goes it alone.

I'm all about the four becoming friends. That is obviously a good thing. Just like to see everyone included. ND is family, yada yada.

What the heck does ESPN see that no one else does? Or for that matter, our coaches?

He. is. built.

He has surprising speed.

He can go up and get the ball in traffic.

That = good receiver.
