Threw the ball 71 yards...when he was 15. Dang. And runs 4.56 40? I'll take it.

Just saw Diaco visited here on Thursday. I'll have to watch this kid play. You would think B-Lo would produce some football talent, but it is usually atrocious around here. Kelly looks like a really good player though and St. Joe's is a good Catholic school with quality sports programs.

Well we already have him, but do we seriously need another qb?

Do we open a Chad Kelly vs Matt Morin thread?

No need. Trimmed his list to 7: FSU, ALA, CL, PU, MSU, BUFF, SYR.

Wants to make his decision in about a month.

Corey Long ESPN 5/25/11

I want to win a national championship, that's been my dream since I was a child.

At Buffalo, Syracuse, or PU??? MSU and CL would be a stretch. Two shots out of seven.

I want strong academics; I currently go to a school now where academics are challenging, and I want that because education is the key.

Needs no comment.

And if I'm going away from my family I definitely want to go to a place that feels like home and a place where the coaching staff will be there the whole time.

Well Saban will be at Bama as long as he wants. Jimbo Fisher should be safe as long as the Honeymoom lasts. He should have a couple of years anyway. I don't know that I'd put any of the others on his short list in the longevity category. Dantonio is 33-19 at MSU but if he keeps posting double digit win seasons he'll be heading to bigger places like Saban did. Dantonio played college ball at So Carolina.

In fairness to the young man, ND never offered. If they had, I think we would have landed him given his selection criteria - - - potential for NC, strong academics, and a place to call home. Perhaps he shouldn't rush his decision.

So...he trimmed his 9 offer list to 7? I don't think he's rushing anything. This will probably last a lot longer if he picks more offers via a good senior season.

Correction: I now realize he had more than 9 offers (or had to atleast) because some of the teams in his final 7 aren't on the offer list above. Who all has offered him?

My dad loves this kid, but it's probably got more to do with who his uncle is than anything. I haven't seen him play personally so I can't really comment much, but it would be cool for a Buffalo-area product to go to ND. As far as Kelly is concerned, he probably has better options elsewhere looking at our current QB situation and the reality that we have a great shot at landing a 'big gun' in the next two classes.

Ouch for Syracuse. They thought they had a really good shot at this guy.

I was going to make a wise-crack about how Clemson still manages to suck it up on the field despite sweet recruiting classes every year....

but then I decided against it....

I think this kid is going to be good. Maybe he can turn around the program - as Wooly so eloquently pointed out, Clemson is a perennial underachiever.

Because kids don't work hard when they're already collecting a paycheck.

Many Clemson fans wanted Dabo out last year. Some were even calling him the "Ron Zook" of SC!! He better have a strong season this year or he may be watching these ,stud, recruits on TV!! I just hope we pull Marshall from the NC!!
Go Irish
