I think about it this way, jimmy said when he commited at the HOF that he wanted to win 4 national championships, now he was not even a freshman and just wanted evryone to get excited but we have to know what jims goals are.
the ultimate would be the NFL no doubt. But there are kids out there who care about college ball because it is sucha unique game unlike the NFL (in my opinion) and they want to achieve greatness on the collgege level before the nfl. I have a hard time believing that jimbo is the type of kid that will leave ND with no wins against sc no significant school records and great opportunities to win a NC and heisman in 2010, but no one here really knows jimmy so how can we say anything about it, i met jimmy when he was a freshman but its not like i know him at all so reeally anyone who is saying anything about it really knows nothing about it because they do not know jimmy.

Well think about what teams need a quarterback.

Cleveland
Tampa Bay
Jacksonville
St. Louis
Seattle
Tennessee (Vince "Ryan Leaf" Young)
My REDSKINS
Raiders(Jamarcus "ANDRE WARE" Russell)
maybe Buffalo
Pick a team he would want to play for

First post here, I too am a die hard Skins fan . I had a dream that we drafted him # 4 and that I was partying in the streets!

I mean i can see the sarcasim but it is true, when someone on the board records a conversation between them and jimmy, where jimmy is spilling his guts about his dreams for the next year then ya, so what is the point since none of us know what he wants. When asked he could say straight up, " im not leaving until i have a great shot to win a title and beat sc" or he can say " the goal from day one is to be in the NFL asap."
so basically if you dont know Jimmy, You dont know JACK!!!

None of those teams will draft a QB. All have other needs to fill and have already used recent draft picks on QB's.

If I were him I'd love to play In Seattle or Jacksonville. I think those would be great spots. Also love the great comments at the bottom. I love how they compare Quinn and Clausen. They are nothing alike. Kinda funny how dumb people are. And how many people should keep their mouths shut, and shouldn't be able to reproduce.

Another skins fan here and I too would love Jim in burgandy and gold but he has alot of unfinished business here. I would rather him stay but that's me being selfish. He'll do what ever he feels is best for him. Next year could be really special though with eeryone back

Cleveland definitely needs a QB and same with Oakland. I don't think Tennessee or Tampa would take one though. 0% that the Bucs take one since they used their first rounder last year on a QB and 25% that the Titans do depending on Fisher's future.

This reminds be that Cleveland should be starting Quinn and the fact that they are not shows they are idiots.... Personally I would like to see one of the following three options A) Jimmy goes to the Jets and takes the starting Job from Sanchez B) Jimmy goes to the Bengals and takes the starting job from Palmer C) Jimmy goes to Arizona and takes the job from that old guy and Leinart

and wild card fourth D) Jimmy goes to Da Raidas and takes JaMarcus Russell's job

any of these outcomes i think would leave me smuggly satisfied

Jimmy comes to Cincinnati, sits behind Palmer and takes over when Palmer is gone. Palmer is a top 5 QB in the NFL. Jimmy isn't even near on his level at this point. I don't know what the hell you are thinking here.

Burlage has never met me, maybe I won't forgive Clausen...perhaps the NFL outside of the Bears doesn't mean one lick to me and I want Notre Dame to win a National Championship regardless of the financial impact to Clausen or Tate...maybe I am selfish...who is Burlage to say that Notre Dame nation would forgive Clausen

Please... not to the worst run professional sports organization. Al Davis gets overpriced talent and uses Cable, as his instrument, to surgically remove it from his players. I desperately do not want Jimmy to end up an Oakland Raider.

This guys is a stud but I do not think he's NFL ready. $$$$$ may not be the issue here as he is going to get his no matter. Jim Clausen as I call him now may want to come back for his own personal reasons. Of course I could be wrong but he just doesnt seem like a $$$$$$ or me guy at all and may understand his importance to this national icon. We will see but my hats off to him as he took his @#$beatings and came out the other side one of Notre Dames best ever. As I said last year I do think his legacy is in the pros, he may come back to work on his body and agility in the pocket.

i like it. this is what i have been saying but we could be dead wrong. i just feel this kid took his lumps as a freshman and sophomore and now would like his reward. And jimmy seems like a kid who would want to be rewarded with an National Championship and a heisman, because i think he loves playing college football and wants to achieve the most at Notre Dame and the best opportunity is next year. Also so much has been said about how tight this group of kids are, and i think golden and rudy and mike floyd all talk it up and say hey lets do it next year.

Everyone would definitely understand why he leaves, if indeed he does. There are so many variables for people to talk about that either conclusion has solid facts to back it up. Jimmy is the only one who can make this decision, and he will choose what is right for him.

"NFL Ready", what is that? I would like for anyone to name an NFL quarterback that was "NFL Ready" when they came out of college, I can think of only two. (Dan Marino & Peyton Manning) and people can disagree with even Manning because Manning threw 28 pics against 26 TD's his rookie year

Plunkett, Elway, Bradshaw, Aikman, A. Manning, Young, & Brees, all stunk up the field as rookies. There are a lot more, Farvre, Montana, Staubach, & Theisman didn't even start as rookies. Would anyone have said that Brady was NFL Ready when he came out of college?

I have always held the opinion that once is a fluke, twice is a trend, & three times is a habit. That is how I look at pro atheletes, and that is how I look at peoples achievments. I look at individual games and seasons the same way. How do we know that Brady Quinn can't play in the NFL? Sure, Anderson came in and had one decent game. But what else 2 completions for 23 yards in his 2nd game back. Anderson is a pretty decent quaterback, could it be that Offensive line sucks and they have no decent receivers? Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, or Tom Brady couldn't help that team. Using my formula for judgement the "once is a fluke theory...," How do Mangini's teams records stack up. I guess what I am trying to say is that two great games with even a good offensive line, does not earn someone a spot in the Hall of Fame, but neither should two bad games with a sorry offensive line and no receivers indicate a QB isn't any good.
