Irish Envy T-Shirts - Second Try!

Some of you may remember I was working on putting together Irish Envy t-shirts for everyone a little while ago. Well, that sort of fell through since we needed a minimum order to make it happen with a local screen printer. I was going through an actual "screen printing shop" to ensure quality because most of the print-on-demand printers online had crappy image quality. However, I finally found one that does not...Zazzle. I purchased a sample tee and the screen printing is easily store quality, vibrant colors, and it's on a 100% Cotton Hanes tagless t-shirt. So, I reworked the Irish Envy design slightly (and made it in green). I will make the one I had before...white on dark blue...but I want to get a physical sample in from them of printing on a dark colored shirt before I direct you all there.

This white tee is high quality, the best part is you can order at your leisure (no minimum), and you can even downgrade to a plain jane basic tee for less money if you need to. As it is, the cost per piece is $19.95, which is what we had before from the local shop. I have been working for a couple years on generating quality, interesting shirt artwork to sell on my own (but I have been slowed by trying to find a good printer as I was only really interested in print-on-demand). This shop I am directing you to will be my new outlet for these shirts and products, should you take an interest in my other items. It may be hard to do but a cool idea for a t-shirt would be
Irish Envy and have an image of all the Notre Dame championship rings on it like your signature.

Actually, it would be cool! Unfortunately, those ring designs aren't mine to reproduce. So, unless I wanted to contact the companies that made those rings, get permission and pay them a royalty, I cannot use them to put on a shirt that would be sold. Sorry!

What I think would be cool is have the IE logo (see top of page) on a pocket on the front and some slogan on the back (something like "We Are ND", or "We Are The Fighting Irish").

I actually HAVE and IE tee shirt... when I was a mod I pushed contest/prizes and one of our prizes was just that, tee shirts...

I can post pics if you want... though it's simply the Irish Envy.com football/shamrock logo you see on the top of the site.

If you have problems reproducing a photo of those rings that you probably have a problem with the IE logo. It was produced by a commercial artist for a fee.

All I know is my business paid some people to do design work, logos, etc. and we can reproduce that one whatever the heck we want because we own the rights. So I would *guess* that as long as the owner said "sure, you can use it" we'd be alright.

You might want to stay clear of any Notre Dame Trademarks as well.

One of the students who put out the Catholics Vs Convicts shirts (he's now the brother-in-law of one of my ND classmates) nearly got tossed from school for initially using, without permission or fees, the interlocking "N" and "D."

They removed it in subsequent runs and pocketed enough money (not vBucks!) To pay a semester's tuition and enjoy a night or two on the town.

first try from the TC??... or first try when we gave them out??? if the second, ownership MADE the shirts, Goshen and I helped distribute... they never gave ok for others to make their own that I know of... unless you refer to the tc

All good points. Trust me, I am a professional artist and as such have been ingrained with laws and regs about fair usage and copyright infringement. Hell, I used to even design toys for kid's meals (Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, etc.) worldwide.

The thing is, if "you" didn't design it (and it's not considered "public domain") then you cannot use it. For it to be considered public domain it either needs to have it's usage rights been granted to any and all persons for whatever reason, or it has to be very old (as if to say those who created it no longer are living and neither are they whom they might have transferred the rights to). Basically, the rule of thumb is, if it's a sports team logo you cannot use it for your own shirts or merchandise. You cannot even use likenesses of iconic things like the Golden Dome or the Basillica without expressed written permission. Now, you can try and get away with it as 99% of the time you will get a "Cease and Desist" letter telling you to knock that ess H eye tee off.

Since I don't want to do that, I am more than happy to make my own (I'd rather make my own designs anyway). However, that having been said, if y'all want more styles and types to choose from I will make more! No problem at all. Give me a couple days and there will be more in the shop.

Also, as I pointed out to phgreek in PM, I am starting a line of my own illustrated shirts and accessories featuring my artwork, whether it be my graphic design, hand illustration or fine art. They will always be available in that shop you see there. Currently, I have a "Russian Eagle" design in there that is indicative of the type of illustrative shirts you'll see, the aforementioned "Stripper League" tee is an example of the graphic design element and so forth.

I would be greatly appreciative of IE's help getting my fledgling little line off the ground! I will shower you all with discounts and free stuff when I can even. I have spent two years (off and on) building quality designs and artwork to bring to market and now that I have found a good online, print-on-demand printer I will be rolling them out as time permits. So, I'll keep things updated on the IE shirts as well as mine. Thanks to everyone for getting in on it, and if you have ideas you would like to see made into IE shirts (or any other product they offer to print on), throw 'em my way!

Thats why I like Wooly's idea of a blue shirt with BEAST on it and maybe mix in Lax's shamrock with IE in it.. I'd buy it.

My only reuest is a t or banner with all the NCs on one side and all the Heisman Trophy winners on the other...

You just can't find anything that puts them all together...I'll trust you to do it legally.
