No one knows what the Mayans thought except you can bet they were up to no good [all that "Is Kukulcan more powerful than a locomotive?" stuff.] But you can bet your last vBuck that Jose Arguelles doesn't know anything either.

Do you really want to give all your money away in preparation for the Mayan end of the World in 2012?? [I've got some use for it].

nope I use my money now because their is no guarentee that tomorrow will come, so why put money in an account if the future isn't even a sure thing. When I have kids my motives will change because I will for sure want to leave them with more than a bill for my funeral. Until then I live life as if their is no tomorrow.

Whats more believeable Aliens or Bigfoot?

That is a pretty difficult one for me because I like them both, but I have to go with Fresh Prince.

Ann Margaret [Raquel Welch is just a bit too much].

Question: Neutered's answer to dshans question is "underwear". Is Neutered a linear thinker or a crooked one??

Linear and crooked are not the only options, nor are they necessarily mutually exclusive Crooked thoughts can be linear in nature, as can linear thinking be crooked... I tend to prefer "lateral" thinker, maybe a bit more versatile. Eccentric if you are wealthy, crazy if you are poor. Dummies may consider lateral thinkers crazy or unusual "outside the box" thinkers. (I already hate that cliche - outside the box implies you and your colleagues live inside a box...). "Outside the box" thinkers may consider linear thinkers rather limited and, well, dumb.

Linear thinking can kill a football forum or a company. That's why I like folks who (appear to) challenge the status quo, as long as it seems their modi operendi is simply stating their own observation from their own experiences and solutions. Obvious Trolls can be pooped upon con gusto. We have had creative thinkers on here banned by linear thinkers before.

Serendipity?

If someone owns a piece of land, do they own it all the way to the center of the earth? How deep does ownership go?

Ownership, as our board lawyers can tell us, is a "bundle" of rights not all of which are actually held by the alleged owner. Thus one may have certain types of "ownership" but not "mineral rights" for instance.

But if we address the spirit of Neutered's question: In theory one holding extreme ownership rights have rights over all the "land" in a three dimensional pie-slice terminating at a point at the center of the Earth. [since there has been no treaty equivalent to the law of the sea regarding such [nor a la Antarctica nor the Moon].

In geological practicality, ones "land" ends at the border of the crust and the mantle, which is partially molten and mobile, and thereby no longer subject to measurable boundaries. But short of that you should be allowed to dig your tunnels as deep as community property laws [which can specifically forbid mining] will allow.

Prof's lecture #7554: fee $5.

If your wife asks you an awkward question, Would you rather take the 5th or drink it??
