They opened a Skyline in Fort Wayne a few years back. It wasn’t awful flavor, but the texture on noodles was weird. Better on a hot dog. I prefer Steak N Shake’s Cincy-style chili to Skyline if you’re getting a 3 or 5 way.
They just built a Portillo’s in the Fort. I stick with my beef, hot, sweet, dipped, add cheese, though. Maybe a combo if I’m feeling frisky.IMO, I prefer the 3 or 5 way from Skyline over Steak ‘n Shake. It’s really not close.
Skyline’s hot dogs however are just boiled garbage. That’s where they miss. You want a good chilli cheese dog, better head to Portillo’s.

Ive only had two (2) Italian beef sandwiches in my life. One was at The Clover hotel in South Bend last year, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.Yup, off Coliseum where everything else is in Ft Wayne.
Here in my neck of the woods they put a Portillo’s across the street from Skyline. Let’s just say the Cubbies are winning that matchup vs the Big Red Machine everyday.
There’s one in Mishawaka, for your next trip to ND.Ive only had two (2) Italian beef sandwiches in my life. One was at The Clover hotel in South Bend last year, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
Wish we had a Portillo’s in Cincy
There is a Portillos in AZ. I think I get the beef sandwhich. You are recommending the Kilbasi? There’s one in Mishawaka, for your next trip to ND.
I’m partial to their Polish sausage, but the beef is clearly good too. Best Coney/Chili Dog I’ve had is at Devil Dawgs in Chicago. I could eat those all day.
One just opened on the far side of town, about a 45 minute drive from me,… is it worth a journey??There is a Portillos in AZ. I think I get the beef sandwhich. You are recommending the Kilbasi?
No. It's just fast food and has gotten worse since it was sold. Their chocolate cake is pretty damn good tho and I'm not even a fan of chocolate cake. Get a slice if you go. They have a lemon version in the summer. It's even better. One just opened on the far side of town, about a 45 minute drive from me,… is it worth a journey??
I’ll wait for the lemon, I can’t choke down chocolate cake believe it or notNo. It's just fast food and has gotten worse since it was sold. I still like chocolate, but lemon is goat'd.I’ll wait for the lemon, I can’t choke down chocolate cake believe it or not
Always and everywhere do I recommend the KielbasaThere is a Portillos in AZ. I think I get the beef sandwhich. You are recommending the Kilbasi?

The cake shake is better than just the cake.Probably not worth a 45 minute drive but if in the area, yeah, worth a try.
The beef sandwich soaked in the sauce is legit. Already mentioned the chili cheese dog.
I’m not a chocolate fan either (not a fan of sweets in general), but the dipping cheese combined with ketchup is fantastic with their french fries.
Fire to WR#1 vs Read the coverageFunny I saw this on Facebook. Even his own QB coach knows he’s a food thread… and my answer is Vanilla with no hesi!!

Just saw this. We go about once a month! My son is baseball crazy and it’s a great park to watch a game in. We’ll probably take our first game in next week.I’m on PTO today recovering from Cin-cin-nasty (nasty good in this instance). Chili was on nachos this go ‘round. Delicious.
Thank you for the recommendations, gentlemen. We posted at The Holy Grail most of the time. Hit another spot too but the name slips me.
All this Portillo’s talk I think DoorDash is picking up on….
@MacIrish75 - you watch the Tin Caps often? How about seeing my CWS banners on Washington and Anthony? I literally built that stadium. Nice park now.

Went to one a couple weeks back for the first time. The regular hot dogs are just that: generic cheap dogs but they were an okay price I thought. I needed to try the chili, but it looked like the cheese was just a regular slice of cheese. Is that what they gave you on the fries?I hadn't been to Wienerschnitzel in many, many years... although I will say my parents would get their value packs often growing up. Anyway, my daughter wanted one of their Blizzards as she heard from a friend that they were like Dairy Queen but different enough to try, so I indulged her. I got a chili cheese fry and an all-beef chili dog, and I will say, for fast food chili, it's pretty dang good. My daughter agreed with her friend and liked their blizzards. The wife tried their fish and chips, and it looked disgusting, and she said as much, but I would def go back for the chili dog and chili cheese fries... better than I remember.
Nah, it was like shredded cheese melted in... I didn't get cheese on my dog, and I got the all-beef dog. I can't speak to the standard default.Went to one a couple weeks back for the first time. Keep your sex life in your bedroom.I’m watching my Halos in Cincinnati right now and Gubi and the crew were shitting all over skyline chili just now,… lol
The side line chick brought nachos and chili dogs to the booth for them to try and Wanye Randazzo tried to stay nice while dancing around not liking it while Mark Gubiza declined all together saying this ain’t his first rodeo and hes not getting back on that ride lolol. When they came back from break they mentioned a position player may come into pitch like the other day if the game gets worse and Randazzo goes, ‘yep, lot of things out of place in this series, like cinnamon and chocolate being used in places it doesn’t belong.’
😂😆😂
