They opened a Skyline in Fort Wayne a few years back. It wasn’t awful flavor, but the texture on noodles was weird. Better on a hot dog. I prefer Steak N Shake’s Cincy-style chili to Skyline if you’re getting a 3 or 5 way.
They just built a Portillo’s in the Fort. I stick with my beef, hot, sweet, dipped, add cheese, though. Maybe a combo if I’m feeling frisky.IMO, I prefer the 3 or 5 way from Skyline over Steak ‘n Shake. It’s really not close.
Skyline’s hot dogs however are just boiled garbage. That’s where they miss. You want a good chilli cheese dog, better head to Portillo’s.

Ive only had two (2) Italian beef sandwiches in my life. One was at The Clover hotel in South Bend last year, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.Yup, off Coliseum where everything else is in Ft Wayne.
Here in my neck of the woods they put a Portillo’s across the street from Skyline. Let’s just say the Cubbies are winning that matchup vs the Big Red Machine everyday.
There’s one in Mishawaka, for your next trip to ND.Ive only had two (2) Italian beef sandwiches in my life. One was at The Clover hotel in South Bend last year, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
Wish we had a Portillo’s in Cincy
