Computer Rankings Round-Up of the 5 most predictive rating systems this year:

1: Dokter Entropy: #3 (Essentially tied with #4 Oregon)
2. TeamRankings.com: #4
3. Sargarin: #6 (Essentially tied with Bama at #5)
4. Slate Fluker: #4
5. David Harville Ratings: #5

We'd be about a 5 point dog to #1 OSU on a neutral field
Is the 5 point projection based on the difference in predictive ratings, i.e., on teamrankings OSU is 32.2 and ND is 26.9?

Sorry Philly - I'm a little slow sometimes.

If we get Schrauth and Jagusah back for a playoff run, you'd have to think we'd be better at run blocking and I'd hope we'd be just as good at pass pro. That would go a long way to quelling my concerns on offense.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. Schrauth would be a welcome addition back, but who knows what kind of shape Jagusah will be in from a strength and conditioning perspective. He hasn't played much meaningful football in forever. Basically was out most of last year and all of this year. He came back decent in the playoffs, but he's had an even longer layoff now.

I’m starting to think the ceiling is 8.
I could see Oregon dropping a game to USC or Washington.

Could also see Georgia dropping to GTech, w/o GTech jumping us

Not out of the realm of possibilities that Florida beats Ole Miss

I wouldn’t put money on any of these things, but I think the ceiling could be higher than 8

Well when I said the ceiling I meant discounting very unlikely losses like Ole Miss losing the Egg Bowl or Florida lol.

To be the man, you need to beat the man! Oregon is tough but I don’t think they are better than us. Their best wins were barely edging out PSU and Iowa, teams I think we’d beat by two scores. OSU would have almost a month off so I’d take that matchup.

I also don’t get the Miami ranking. They need a lot to break their way to even get into the ACC CG. I also don’t see them jumping enough to get final at large spot.

Even if USC doesn’t beat Oregon but it’s close we could possibly jump them. Kinda excited I got my airBnB Sunday for playoffs, better scoop them soon shits going to sky rocket.

Why was Miami in the simulated bracket? That is just objectively not how it works. They are slotting the ACC Champion at 11. If the season ended today that is Georgia Tech versus Virginia. Since Georgia Tech is higher, they should be in the graphic as the ACC Champion.

They also flipped Miami and Georgia Tech for no reason, It’s like they are soft launching Miami getting back in. If anything they should have dropped due to Louisville’s loss!

ND would be a slight favorite to Oregon on a neutral field. Neat.

I really just want to get to 7 to get a home game and avoid OSU in rd 2.

Since Miami spent a week having an absolute crybaby meltdown over head to head I expect them to be petitioning the CFP committee right now to be dropped below Louisville. The results on the field simply have to matter!

Winning at Autzen and then playing OSU and Bama/Georgia just to make the title game would be an absolutely insane run lol.

If USC is able to sneak into the playoffs by winning out, the tide could rise us to 7. It would make that look like one of the best wins for any playoff team. I guess 8 is most likely the ceiling, but if Georgia loses on Saturday and Texas loses to A&M, what would the rankings look like? Texas Tech losing in the Big 12 championship, Ole Miss losing to Florida again, all very possible.

Ohio State beat Texas.
Indiana beat Oregon
A&M beat us.
Bama beat Georgia
Georgia beat Ole Miss

That's it for teams currently in the playoff bracket beating teams that are also currently in the bracket. Yes there are a few remaining regular season games like Texas v Georgia, and the (meaningless?) conference championship games. But if, say, USC beat Oregon, they probably take Oregon's place, and we are on that list while Indiana falls off it.

I think there are a bunch of realistic possibilities for 7+. Simply SC over Oregon and GaTech over Georgia would do it. A BYU victory over Ttech in a Big 12 championship rematch would also move us up a spot. I dont think any of those outcomes are unlikely. Of course there will also be the conference championships. It's college football, expect chaos.

The formatting of that tweet is stupid, but is that not saying Oregon -1.5?
