ND has not had a 1K receiver in 6 consecutive seasons

Last one was Claypool in 2019

Prior to that, Fuller, Floyd, Samardzija routinely had 1K+ years. From 2008-2015, the Irish had a 1K+ WR in 7 out of 8 years

Now, they are lucky to have a WR with over 600 yards in a season. The Athletes they are recruiting and brining in as pass catchers have been absolutely awful under freeman.

If they want to win a natty in the next 2 years, with Carr as QB...they need to get much better on the outside.

Kevin Austin, Beaux Collins, Chris Tyree, Greathouse, Faison....these guy would not even be getting snaps in games at Ohio State, Texas, Bama, Georgia, etc.

Ohio State has two 5 Star Freshman as their #4 and #5 WRs. They would not swap a single WR on their team for anything ND trots out there. Faison is a walk-on 1 star WR. Greathouse would struggle to start on most MAC teams. Field and Pauling are bottom tier WRs from hilariously bad programs that no one else wanted.

I would focus on how many passing yards we have in total as Carr likes to spread it around and freeman likes to rotate players. Our WRs are better blockers than flashier receivers like Lane and Lemon on USC and that off the ball play matters. We have been a run first team and if we had access to film I’m sure we would see guys routinely open and not targeted. If Carr hits a few long passes to open guys has missed 4-5 so far this would look better. Some of this has to do with the borderline shitty playcalling by a dated OC.

You would think that any troll with half a brain would join a board and make a bunch of generic posts over a month time period before "dropping the hammer".

Fields is almost surely going to get drafted, so saying he's a "bottom tier WR that no one wanted" is surely a choice.

Faison is also extremely likely to get drafted but plans to come back for another year.

Also, considering Greathouse cooked them just fine in the natty last year i have a hard time believing he isn't cracking lineups there.

Especially at Georiga, their WR was trash last year.

nonetheless, thanks it's a slow day I needed this.

Yes..."hilariously bad" 14th ranked Virginia. Got it.

This iteration of Wisconsin may fit that mold, but not the Wisconsin of the 15 years prior to Fickell.

But to play along...

Faison is on pace for over 800 yards
and Rairdon, Pauling, and Fields are all on pace for over 600. I'd say that kind of ensures that the Irish are pretty lucky this year I guess.

Now... Troll along.
