I sort of agree that it would be annoying if I were a coach, but also it comes with the territory of being paid a $100M contract and having everything in the world at your disposal. When the expectation is to be the best team in the country and win a championship, the conversation is naturally going to skew negative because either you're "capital-G" Great or you're failing. If he wants to just win football games and everyone be happy, he can always take a job at Miami (OH).
I don't know that his salary is relevant, but I get what you're saying. Not everyone makes Brian Kelly money and some of the stuff that gets thrown out at them leans to the negative. Success doesn't really sell. A lot of people are loving life that Notre Dame is 0-2 right now. That sells better.

With that said, LSU is 3-0. I'm taking that right now even if it comes with a few warts and things that need to be worked on. Kelly has also never started 3-0 there and it's year four.

I think reporters could do a better job of wording and framing these questions. Definitely provide stats. This guy came right out of the gate with the sarcastic remark to begin followed by the question in the way he phrased it. It wasn't going to go well for him.

I don’t think the question was completely unwarranted, but to ask it as the first question in that way just seemed like they were trying to poke the bear.

Come on guys, it's a SEC win!!! against a team that lost to South Florida at home. He's overcompensating for years of throwing his players under the bus, and now he wants to be seen as their knight in shining armor. He's a crybaby and always has been. Sure he was our crybaby, and we defended him. Now he's not, and the way he left, fuck him. I'll enjoy every opportunity to bag on the dude.

Asking about an offense that is underperforming is relevant but probably best asked a bit later in the session. BKs response was probably more geared to his locker room than to a reporter. And he didn’t tell the reporter to talk to the coke bottle so there’s that.

That’s the vibe I got. Seemed like he was sticking up for the players so they know he has their backs b/c as a CEO type HC, he’s probably too distant

Right. It was the way the question was asked more than anything else.

Actually what really went on today was that Nussmaier (sp.?) was exposed as a pedestrian quarterback.

Surprising.

And to be honest, his performance today was about the same as it was vs UF and LaTech. Maybe slightly worse, but not by much.

"to many academic requirements."

Mike Ross goes to golf matches and acts like he's at a monster truck rally. Don't know it for fact, just know its true.

I think that he is injured. Watching him throw, he doesn't have the zip he used to have in previous years. BK brushed off a Nussmeier injury during Fall camp, wasn't it like arthritis in his knee or something like that?

Also crazy thing I saw yesterday -- apparently two offseasons ago, BK asked Denbrock to drop down to Co-OC with Sloan as a way to keep Sloan around. Part of the calculus that led Denbrock to come back to South Bend

Feels like revisionist history and cope by LSU fans. Both because it is a further mark against Kelly and because it explains why their Heisman producing OC took a lateral move. They were about to make him the highest paid OC in the SEC and he left because he'd rather be at ND. This "Kelly pushed Denbrock out" narrative was nowhere to be seen when he made the move to ND.
