Wait y’all think Oklahoma will be a lot better or something? I know we all remember them pantsing Bama but they were pretty listless besides that

@ Clemson
Florida
@ Ole Miss
South Carolina
@ Vanderbilt
Texas A&M
@ Alabama
Arkansas
@ Oklahoma

Shit. I’ll take 9-3. I’d be pretty thrilled with a 10-2 record. That said, despite Kelly’s flaws, I just have a hunch that we’ll be really good this year. He’s done well gathering assistants and filling in the gaps with good, experienced players in the portal. If he can piece it together or get outta the way, this team is talented and experienced enough to make a deep run.
Sounds like quite a few ND fans annual take while BK was here.

I’m not sure. A lot of analysts and preseason magazines are super high on OU. I don’t know? They’ve got talent and that’s a tough game to end the year at.

The beauty of college football is that you don't know how good or bad any of these teams will be until end of September

From an article on si.com

it spurred Kelly to pledge $1 million of his own salary toward NIL payments for his players—tacit acknowledgement that he’s not done enough yet.

Kelly's donations of $1,000,000 are apparently the second time he has done this for LSU.

Earlier he donated a million of his salary for facility upgrades (after he was hired.)

This latest was started last December as a "matching fund" (up to one million from his and his wife's foundation)
for an NIL funding drive, which got $3 1/2 million.

Kelly now jokes that he's not going to do this every year.

Covid hit during my second semester of law school. So I did 2.5 semesters via zoom. I'm sure professors have tried to make the experience more akin to in-person, but online education is simply not as good as being there in person. Tech difficulties (real and imagined) take away about 5-10% of class time. And yes, a lot of students just logged in and went back to bed.
Never understood the whole paying for college only not to attend thing.

That’s who med school was prior to COVID. Over half the class didn’t go to class in-person. A lot would skip and study. Once the class was released, watch the lecture on 1.5-2x speed and then back to studying the other lectures/ prepare for our STEP 1 board exam.

The “standards are looser” than late era Kelly because the guys Freeman is pushing for end up being high character guys who don’t flunk out.

They’re a bit cooler about online course credits for key requirements.

What a dolt. Like Clemson needs any extra motivation…what in the hell was he thinking?

Wasn’t Clemson the first of the two stadiums to be dubbed “Death Valley”. I couldn’t care less as both venues are bucket list worthy but I know some fans of those teams get emotional about it.

I doubt that Clemson fans will be any more loud one way or the other.

... and the players will decide it on the field. (so it IS "traits.")

(( when my brother played against Alabama, he said that the awesome ROLL TIDE cheer-wave excited him so much that he knocked his opponent's ass off on the first plays. If you're intimidated, you ain't got the "traits."))

He’s thinking TV ratings

Also this was said to a local club, not on SportsCenter

Yeah, maybe he didn't think the comment would leave the Rotary club, but I could see Dabo using it as bulletin board material. He knows how to motivate his guys for big games.

We all know BK too well...dudes not winning a championship in this climate. No way he strings together 3/4 straight wins against playoff teams to make that happen. I'd almost guarantee it. Week 1 he loses agaaaaaain

This writer is about to learn about disappointment Brian Kelly style

I know Kelly has a lot of money he is owed and all of that, but seriously, if LSU misses a 12 team playoff for a second year in a row in BK's 4th season, the seat has to at least get uncomfortably warm right?
