eh, I first had Whataburger in Texas in '91, and have lived here with them for 20 years. I haven't really noticed some big drop off, at least not more than any other chain has degraded over time.

I haven't eaten McD's or BK in a couple years, they were getting that bad. Straight garbage.

It's all too gd expensive, tho.

5 guys is the worst. Good burgers, but I don't really want to spend $50 on "fast" food for 3 people.
Five guys is expensive for sure. A student told me to try the chicken bbq sandwich at Whataburger,… so I did… it was ok but why was just the damn sandwich 11 dollars?? Anyway, all the locals talk about some big drop off and I believe them bc all the Whataburgers near me are inedible. At least for the actual burgers. I need to find what woods the Whataburger death cult meetings are held,… it’s the only thing that could explain its popularity here

Haven't seen it mentioned, but Freddy's burgers are super great and they have the best pickles in the game. I'll take a burger from there over almost any place mentioned.

I used to be a Commercial Insurance Field UW for several Insurance companies in the Chicago area and would inspect many restaurants. Done of the worst were Chinese restaurants. The stuff I saw...my favorite story is walking into one and wondering why there were so many box fans around the cooler/fridge. Compressor broke so they were using the fans to keep food cold..lol...some of the most poor housekeeping I have seen were Chinese restaurants.
Tradecraft from 24 plus years of doing my job. If in the middle of the night smoke is pumping out of the roll down gates, the fire is ALWAYS in the Chinese restaurants!!😄

Sure,… but was the food good?

For fries, don’t sleep on Rally’s/Checkers. 🐐 tier seasoned fries.
Went to a Rally’s years ago. Guy leaned out the window to hand me our food and saw he had a huge red boil on his neck and it was leaking. Tossed the food in the trash and have never went back. lol

Been to Rally's/checker's once, it was in St Louis, and the staff was definitely on meth and I've never seen a dirtier place/group of people. Turned me off from ever going back to one. I did the same with my food. Tossed it on the trash and grabbed some BK.

An and just realized there's been no love for the greatest steamed burgers ever. White castle. I miss that place so much from the Midwest

It’s all getting ridiculous. Stopped at Shapiro’s deli because the wife wanted a roast beef sandwich. $24 freaking dollars. Told her she’s paying from here on out.

First, I apologize, all this time I thought you were a dude.

Second, their new actual chicken wings are legit crazy good for fast food

Who wants to pay for bones when I can get boneless for the same price and get more meat? Plus bones get in the way of the ranch dippin'!

Shapiro's costs more than pretty much all real New York Jewish delis besides Katz. It's absurd. I had a sandwich for half of the price at a real one that lapped it.

I can't think of a time when I've ordered a Subway sub at all in the past decade. You can get a significantly better sub from Wawa for cheaper.

Fellas, what are you picking to eat at the Fourth of July cookout?

Hotdogs? Bratwursts? Burgers? Smoked meats (and which)?
We went with wagyu beef blend burgers with grilled asparagus, roasted sweet potato slices and some mixed fruit. It was dynamite.

There’s no reason to go to Subway if there’s a Jersey Mike’s, Penn Station, Jimmy John’s, or even Firehouse Subs around
Bang. You nailed it. Jersey's is my go-to, but I just had Firehouse the other day and forgot how good it was (there isn't a convenient location near me, unfortunately, but it used to be a staple).

Jimmy Johns are my go-to cold subs, but I've heard decent things about their hot sub menu they recently rolled out.

I will say, Subway has good coupons. We get a monthly set in our local mailer and it includes a 3 foot long for $18 deal which includes almost every sub they make. My family lived off those during our ballpark nights in May/June.

Some prima donna foodies in this place.

All food has a place. Had me a nice round steak sandwich this weekend-tasty AF.

Best cheesesteak...used to have one within a 5 minute walk from my house. Not great for the waistline...but so tasty.

Subway is the Walmart of sandwich shops. Jersey Mikes does the Philly Steak better than the others IMO.

There’s a place called Greiners on the south side of Indy. Don’t know if they are as good as they use to be, but they were as good as it gets back when I frequented them.
