No that attempt will be had by Minchey.
I think it would be unwise to use QB2 in those spots if you have a guy like Buchner available.

I would prefer Kenny's energy/reps go toward being ready to step in if Carr goes down or needs to be benched, not toward some gimmick/goal line/short yardage package(s).

I was really referencing it based on Mercks reporting that he (Kenny) was asking for specific short yardage packages to be designed/implemented for him as part of a condition to stay and not go to the portal. If true and staff acquiesced then he’d be the guy those goal line packages, potentially.

I called this move the day he came back fully expecting a mass departure from the QB room once they named a starter in 2025.

That South Carolina team got beat by a ND team that was playing so many guys who eventually got ran off not to do much of anything after leaving... Buchner, Diggs, Staes, Tyree, Thomas, etc.

Shame on Tommy for that goal line call, but epic response.
Tommy definitely shares a lion's share of the blame on that play, but Buchner pulled the trigger. It was bad all around, we were gashing them on the ground.

I was at that Bowl game against SC. It was actually one of the most fun games I've been too. South Carolina side almost imploded on that pick 6 late. But anyway TB played decent and if I remember correctly was the MVP of the game. I wouldn't hate seeing him in the QB room, I mean.....Saban was willing to give him a shot, so I guess I will too 🤣🤣🤣

I know they said he wasn't going back to the QB room, but is he not effectively a QB? His primary role seems to be calling in plays from the sideline, which is typically a QB job, not something they have WRs do. And to the extent he has gotten on the field it has been as someone who throws/runs the ball, not catches it.

Either way, yes, especially if we lose one of Angeli/Minchey, having him available as a quarterback seems like a good move. He'll have far more game experience than any other QB on the roster next year, and if Denbrock wants QBs who can run, that's Buchner.
Posted back in December. Buy this man a beer.

Starts next year or is he already gone?
He was on the sideline during the Miami game. I'd assume he plays through the season and heads off after that. It's pretty typical for companies like that to offer jobs to people who are still in school, to start when they're done.

Maybe.

His LinkedIn shows him being employed by Goldman Sachs as "Incoming Investment Banking Analyst" starting in Sep 2025. I don't know if that title of "Incoming" means that he won't actually start till a future date or if that is a legitimate title of anyone who starts as a Investment Banking Analyst.
