#7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs __
Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Atlanta, Georgia
Monday, January 20, 7:30 PM EST
Sitting in bed last night after the game, I started to get mixed emotions…
Part of me is so damn excited to play for a national championship…
The other part of me doesn’t want this thing to end. I want to keep playing on and on and on…
But the bottom line is we are at the end of our ride.
This team has been challenged all year long…
One more challenge lies ahead and we are not here to participate.
Oh it's not over, lots of talent coming back later this year. We are going to be good for yearsSitting in bed last night after the game, I started to get mixed emotions…

If Texas wins tonight those tickets could plummet fast knowing cocky OSU fans buying tickets early. That's how I got in the door for the Big 10 championship game. Also in the market for tickets - prices are so high I expect to be forced to play favorites within my family and hope for some last minute price drops to get more Irish in the door. You are doing a community service - I promise to wear exactly the same gear as I did for the Sugar and Orange.
If OSU dominates again tonight I might have some reservations about paying up for the opportunity and opt to sweat it out at home.
I've been thinking about that comparison as well. I'll never forget being home in Rochester in January and planning for our wedding and being in my car with that game on the radio (no ESPN Watch back then!) and listening and hoping that OSU would pull it off (since I hated Miami a lot back then), and they did it! What a game!I keep thinking back to the team we’re currently modeled after: the 2002 Ohio St Buckeyes.
With nothing more than Clarett and a great defense they upset the Miami Hurricanes. The Canes had like 15 first round draft picks on that team.
Freeman has been following Tressel’s advice all year and it pays off next week.
Anything can happen in one game.
Believe.
And then that got me to thinking, wow! All the PoSU stars for the most part had the game all expected them to have (including Allar because we expect him to throw stupid INTs), so Singleton (for sure), Tyler Warren, the H-back, and even Carter who was a menace. All had strong games if you look at the stat sheets. And despite all that PoSU star power, The Irish found a way to overcome that and come away with the win which is all about strong coaching and a very positive and resilient team culture and attitude that "we got this, and we CAN WIN this game!" We can do the same against OSFU 🍀🍀🍀I've been thinking about that comparison as well. I'll never forget being home in Rochester in January and planning for our wedding and being my car with that game on the radio (ESPN Watch back then!) and listening and hoping that OSU would pull it out (since I hated Miami a lot back then), and they did it! Surely Georgia and Pedo U have better defense than ohio?
