Freeman should set up tents in the middle of the field and have his players sleep outside until some week team from the south showsup in South Bend

Screw Bama....I don't want any part of them if ND doesn't have to play them, especially first round. I want ND to advance as far as they can, and having to play Bama first definitely decreases those chances!. If Milroe is even just okay, that game is 50/50.
Rooting hard for Oregon to beat PSU by more than a touchdown, for Texas to take care of Georgia, and for Clemson to sneak by SMU!

I’ve had the opportunity to live in a few different places, central Florida, South Bend, Minnesota, Seattle… I have no scientific rationale for this, but 30 degrees feels different in all those places. Hell, even Indy 30 is different than South Bend 30.

that said, I don’t think it matters. I think ND is the better team, regardless of environs. This isn’t a Saban Bama team anymore. ND is probably 10 points better regardless of location, provided Leonard doesn’t make any early season dipstick throws.
Humidity+infrastructure. Florida feels cold anytime it's not above 80 because everything is made of tile or concrete and it's humid all the time. In Minnesota, the winter humidity is super low and the buildings are much cozier. Also, the attitude makes a difference.

It’s going to be Alabama @ND come hell or high water. They’ve already set the seeds up to align for it.

Question...after Oregon rails Penn State Saturday, wont ND move into their slot and be playing AZ St? I thought as it stands currently, before the game, was the projection of ND vs Bama?

Yes but LAX posted inside info suggesting the committee wants ND/Bama badly. I believe it, even though Bama at PSU would probably do similar ratings.

Losses don’t matter to committee in championship game remember. At least when they don’t want them to. We’ll see

What Lax said above is that if that happens, the committee would likely move the Big 12 champion above Bama and then Bama would be the 12 seed and still playing us as the 5 seed.

I honestly wouldnt even watch. I’m beyond tired of seeing literally every name program except for Notre dame get favorable, easier match ups in post season games every now and then. It’s been decadeS since ND got one in a major post season game.

Humidity makes a difference, but i think physically acclimating and attitude like you said are a big thing.

When I lived in Florida I would come back for the holidays. I'd get off the plane and it would be 25 degrees and I'd be freezing.

A week later 5 degrees barely bothered me.

Would be hilariously hypocritical if they leave psu where they are at after losing to Oregon then drop SMU all the way out of the playoffs for losing. Hope it happens that way just so they look stupid.

If PSU gets demolished by OR, which I think is possible, they couldn’t seriously keep them ranked ahead of us if they are sane. This is why we should schedule a 13th game. Hawaii is my vote.

The problem is the masses wouldn't notice. They'd say, with their mouths wide open breathing, "well Clemson is a Blue Blood (now) and curb stomped some G5 team parading like a P4 team all year. Therefore, it is deserving that SMU gets left out for an amazing Alabama team."

Most definitely. It has been colder than usual all around, but I'm guessing the temps in the south are going to climb back up in the 50's and 60's in a few days. You need to be in the cold more than a couple of days to acclimate.

It's currently 55 in Tuscaloosa and 38 in South Bend with wind gusts up to 30mph.

John Brice & others have reported that the committee wants ND playing on Friday night so it sounds like that is what we can expect
This morning he amended that by saying, it's it's Bama/ND, that will almost certainly be the Saturday night showcase. If it's ND/meh team, they want the Friday night game.

Miami practices in 80+ degree weather the entire season so their players have acclimated to that w/ little expectation of playing in colder weather due to the prevalence of domed stadiums. Of course there’s a handful of exceptions in Green Bay, Chicago, Buffalo, Baltimore, NY. Point is that you can’t compare Miami winter weather to winter weather in the southeast/Texas.

The only two ND opponents I’ve seen adversely affected by wintry weather was Miami in the 2010 Sun Bowl & FSU in a November game in South Bend. I wouldn’t pin your hopes on a UGA, Texas or Bama folding b/c of snow and 30 degree temps. Sure there will be some WR that are miserable but for the most part I don’t think it plays the factor so many fans are assuming. They are assuming it b/c southern teams rarely travel north for OOC gams in November which I get.
Not counting on them folding but to say that it'll be fine because it sometimes gets cold in the South and the players will not be affected by the cold is also not correct.

I lived in Columbia, SC for 11 years. I completely understand the difference between getting a cold spell for a few days and actually living in a cold environment. A random stretch of 3-5 days in the thirties is way different from the feeling of winter setting in and your body adjusting to the cold. I think it is naïve to say that it won't have an affect on the southern teams traveling north for the playoffs. There is a reason they don't typically do it.

I don't want bad weather. Bad weather almost always narrows games. I believe that on the average Saturday, ND is better than almost anyone this season, including Alabama. Leonard has a hard enough time throwing in good weather. And our DBacks should have good footing to break on the ball. ... I almost always hate bad weather games. JUST cold ... maybe that's OK.

Not for nothing but since we’re talking weather, this game will be played on the shortest day of the year. Even if it’s a 3:30 start, it’ll feel like a night game by the start of the second half.
